I'm thinking of tearing up the soil, too. Just bare rock other than the outside terrain. How's that sound?

I shall work for this at exactly as you command, as quickly as my  9 FPS will allow.

If I'm reading this correctly, you're going fucking boatmurderd on the lands outside your gates, pools of magma, lakes of blood, the charred, burnt, violently tortured remains of the forests that once stood proud around the gates. (Gotta think of the elves, after all, we live in a multi-cultural world.) The rotting heaps of corpses so mutiliated not even the flies dare go near them...
Oh yes, and of course: Blood for the blood god! Skulls for the skull-totems!

Sound good, doesn't it?

Project scour-the-earth lead to 2 FPS on my mightiest computer for some reason. After undesignating, things seem to be running properly again.

Oh, and the King arrived.
I'm building a throne room for him, and I've moved him into the Royal Quarters we had available.
Anything else I should know for Kings?

P.S. the Queen has two elf kills. The king has several skills, notably, he's a Milker.

You should think about getting some cabinets for the dwarves. There's a lot of loose items lying around in their quarters, and it might be upsetting your fps. Keep trying!

And kings are just sniffier nobles than most. If he starts demanding adamantite toy forges you know what you must do.

There is already an artifact throne in his bedroom, as well as a table and coffin.

In the true Eternal Halls style, the King's entire suite is packed into an extraordinarily decorated broom closet.  With muddy sandy floors.

So tell us more about this King.  He was a milker?  Should fit right in.  What're some of his preferences?

Kubuk Morullikot has been ecstatic lately. He admired own fine armor stand lately. He admired a fine tastefully arranged statue lately. He admired a fine shop lately. He was comforted by a lovely waterfall lately.
He is married to Datan Gateesteems and has 6 children: bla, bla, bla, bla, bla, and baby bla. He is the son of Ushat Squidgild and Zon Cloisterwalls. He is a worshiper of As the Harmonious Coal.

And then there's his personality, which is oddly King-ie:
He can handle stress. He is very assertive. He tends not to openly express emotions. He prefers stability and security to ambiguity and disorder. He is candid and sincere in dealings with others. He is confident. He needs blablebla to blabla the blablabla.

UPDATE:
Goblins ambushed!

Endok Fikukustuth was hiking up in the mountains on comfortable autumn day. He'd long been training to join the army, and hoped one day to wield the symbol of dwarven might- the warhammer; He wished to continue the tradition of his father, and his father's father, and all of his ancestors. However, he was still a novice, and was known only as a recruit, a wrestler. Practicing a few swings with the plain old iron hammer he'd picked up somewhere, he continued on. Suddenly, he heard a shout; "An Ambush! Curse them," cried Rakust Keniden, the cook, "They've nearly got me!"
Endok sprang into action and charged the goblins.
He tore into the gang of goblins chasing Rakust, punching and swinging with all his might! The goblins fought back bitterly, and delt him serious wounds, but still he pressed on. One goblin fell to the rock, cloven-faced. Another! A goblin wrestler, gibbering in rage, lept at him-
With machine-like perfection, Endok's muscled, yet bleeding, wounded arms brought the hammer in what a hammerer's textbook would describe as a perfect "type 3" arc. It connected with the airborne goblin's torso in just the right way. It's ribcage collapsing, the goblins eyes filled with surprise and pain as it was lifted up higher and launched into the distance.
Had it survived it would have been amazed at the distance.

The goblins streamed in, clawing and biting and slashing at the exhausted warrior. Facing insurmountable odds, he fell- not before saving the lives of several others. When Aquizzar and his squad arrived and had crushed the cowardly creatures to slime, the took pause there to respect the remains of Endok, the dwarf who entered the fight a mere recruit, but who died a Hammerer!

Finished! The save.
I think the Queen went mad. Anyway, she's called a guard by the game, for some reason.
Someone might want to take a look at that.
