What are you suggesting zombies are, magic?

Yes.  How else would you explain something that is derived from the living, yet doesn't need to sleep, eat, drink, is far more difficult to kill compared to a non-zombified variant, often does not need the use of vital organs, and in some cases can only be killed by wounds to the head.  How would radiation do any of these things?

Let us not forget that the immunity rates for contageos Zombies is less then those of even the most deadly plagues on earth.

More evidence for the "Magic" pile.

Any science that's sufficiently advanced enough will be looked at as magic.  My argument being there is no such thing ever in any dimension as magic. Only unexplained science.

That said, those zombies could actually be robots. Like Necron Flayers who wear the skin of their victims.

That is a possibility, but our understanding of things offers no reasonable explanation for such things.  They cannot be proven to be possible, because we cannot understand them at all.  Therefore, 'magic' is an appropriate explanation since we have no idea what creates and powers these things.

Feels a bit comical to be debating like this over zombies...

Well who says magic is against science either?

Magic is almost always refered to as a science that science hasn't caught up to yet.

Rather than having them directly force you to mine adamantine, I would suggest that they give you strange moods that require adamantine. "Dig out the adamantine or Urist here goes insane and dies" is suitably vicious.

(It occurs to me that you can probably get "Lovecraft" as the random name of your fortress. That's when you know you're screwed.)

Fallout doesn't have Zombies... I think that is racist against Ghouls

I don't considered the Headcrab people to be Zombies (especially if you see them in the final stage)... but that is just me

They are in the Zombie group.

Some Zombies are just people under mind control.

Zombies are real.  They're just in your head.

In your head.

Zombie, zombie, zombie.

We South Africans should be best off, nearly every house has a spiked fence, window bars, savage dogs, alarms and likely a gun or two.

Generators as well because of all the power cuts. And maybe a vegetable garden because you can't buy good quality vegetables anywhere. Almost every farm has a pump to get water powered by wind. Along with another plentiful food source namely cattle and maize which are the main things farmed in my area.
