A tragic summoning accident has brought a multitude of monsters to a hurriedly abandoned wizard’s lab. Surely no conflict will arise from this!

Welcome to Bring Your Own Monster, a themed BYOR! To join, simply post in the thread and PM me the name of your monster; when the game starts, you’ll receive a role based on the monster you chose!

A couple of quick notes:

• The generic mafiakill is Free; other mafiakills may or may not be
• Private chats will be located here; please join now so I don't have to round you up later

Spoiler: Rules (mostly stolen from webadict) (click to show/hide)

 - Days are somewhere between 72 and 24 hours depending on the playercount and current day; weekends count for half
 - Nights last 24 hours or whenever all actions are sent in and processed. You must send in your actions; if you aren't taking any, please send in "no action" or something similar.
 - Natural Action Resolution is in effect. TL;DR: Actions which modify actions take place before the actions they modify, and paradoxes (e.g. two players roleblocking each other) cause all involved actions to fail
 - Day actions are resolved in order of submission whenever I'm online
 - You may post a maximum of 25 posts per real-life day and 50 posts per in-game Day (25ppd/50ppD).  It is recommended that you post at least once per real-life day and required that you post at least twice per in-game Day.
 - Hammers in effect.  If a player receives a majority of votes, the Day ends and the player is chosen for execution immediately.  If you accidentally post something after the hammer, you MUST edit your post and remove all content.
 - You may vote for No Lynch / No Execution. No Lynch only requires 50% of votes (rounded up) to hammer (i.e., if 6 players are alive, hammering a player requires 4 but No Lynch requires 3)
 - If the vote is tied at the end of the day, the decision of which tied candidate to select is made by the first surviving anti-town faction in this list: Mafia, Alt-Mafia, Cult, Serial Killer, Outsider.
 - No posting after the hammer
 - No editing posts (except to redact posts made after the hammer)
 - No PMing anyone but the mod
 - No quoting PMs from the mod. You may paraphrase information from PMs.
 - No quoting chats you are in
 - No posting in chats you are in during the Day unless otherwise specified
 - You must read your role PM at the start of the game
 - No cryptography
 - Official votecounts will be posted at least once every 24 hours
 - I cannot answer questions about a player's role unless that player's role is available to be seen (e.g., has flipped). I can answer questions about your role in PMs, but not in-thread.  I can, however, answer generic questions. I may ask you to rephrase your question.
 - Please vote in Red (bold is optional).  Do not post anything else in red.  Mamobo will be watching, and it’s very partial to it.

Town
Wincon: You win when all Anti-Town factions are dead and at least one member of the Town is alive.

Mafia
Tag:  Anti-Town
Group Ability: One member of this group can use the Mafiakill ability at Night.
Wincon: You win when your team equals or outnumbers the remaining players and there are no ways to stop you.

 - This faction may be given a different name, like Fiends or Pirates
 - There may additionally be a mutually hostile Alt-Mafia faction with essentially identical characteristics.

(Night, Free, Mafiakill) Mafiakill [t]: Kill the target.

Serial Killer
Tag: Anti-Town
Wincon: You win when all other players are dead.

Survivor
Wincon: You win if you are alive at the end of Day X, or if you are alive when the game ends.

Cult
Tag: Anti-Town
Wincon: You win when your team equals or outnumbers the remaining players and there are no ways to stop you.

[alignment]-Ally
Wincon: You win when [alignment] wins.

[player]’s Sibling
Wincon: You win when [player] wins. You are informed of their alignment.

[player]’s Persecutor
Wincon:  You win when [player] is lynched or loses the game. You are not necessarily informed of their alignment.

Outsider
Wincon:  You win when [other wincon] is accomplished.

Auto: Rather than an action, this is a passive effect that triggers under the circumstances described.
Day: This action can only be performed during the Day.
Day/Night: This action can be performed in either phase.
Free: This action doesn’t count toward your one action per phase.
Innate: This action can’t be removed from you by normal means.
Mafiakill: By default, only one Mafiakill action can be performed per night per mafia team. Many mafiakills, including the generic Mafiakill, are Free.
Multi-x: You may use this action up to x times per phase.
Night: This action can only be performed at Night.
Sealed: This action can’t be used / This auto has no effect.
x-Shot: Performing this action / triggering this auto consumes a Shot. A 0-shot action can’t be performed and a 0-shot auto has no, or limited, effect. Roleblocked actions don’t consume shots, but actions that fail for other reasons do.

Targeting Tags
[t] This action targets one other player.
[self] This action targets the user.
[t/self] This action targets one other player or the user.
[t1, t2] This action targets two other players.
[t1, t2… tx] This action targets x other players.
[random] This action targets a random player.
No tag: This action doesn’t directly target any players.

Castoride (Town)

Welcome, John Doe. You are the venerable Castoride, a member of the Town. You win when all anti-town factions are dead and at least one member of the Town is alive.

(Auto, Innate) Beaver King: You always have access to the Lodgechat.
(Auto) Beaver Court: If a member of Lodgechat other than yourself would be killed, they survive, but if this ability successfully protects someone, the lodge is destroyed in the scuffle; the current Lodgechat is closed and a new, empty Lodgechat is created. In addition, Bring Log is Sealed until the end of the next Day. (Players with access to the old Lodgechat will retain it, but it won't be considered an active groupchat.)
(Day) Bring Log [t]: Invite your target to the Lodgechat.


Tarrasque (Mafia)

Welcome, Jane Doe. You are the terrible Tarrasque, a member of the Mafia. You win when your team equals or outnumbers the remaining players and there are no ways to stop you.

As a member of the Mafia, you have access to the Mafiachat, a night-only chat channel shared with Joe Doe and Jack Doe. Click here to join the Mafiachat. You may also use the generic Mafiakill.

(Auto) Unstoppable Force: You can't be roleblocked, redirected, or protected against.
(Auto) Immovable Object: You can't be killed or have your vote stolen.
(Auto) Unmistakable Presence: Whenever you target a player, they will receive the message, "[playername] visited you in the night."
(Night) Terrorize [t]: Roleblock the target.

Medusa (Serial Killer)

Welcome, Jay Doe. You are the infamous Medusa, a Serial Killer. You win when all other players are dead or nothing can prevent this from happening; this does not require you to be alive.

(Night) Gaze [t]: Roleblock the target.
(Night) Hair of Snakes [t]: Poison the target, killing them at the end of the next night.
(Auto) Wandering Eyes: Once per night, when you’re targeted by an action, you automatically use Gaze on the player responsible and receive the message, “[playername] looked you in the eye.” (If you’re targeted by more than one action in a night, this ability affects a single action, selected at random.)
