Turn 6
╚═━┈┈━═╝Late Summer Year 1 TURNTURNTURNThe Glowing Manta and Audacious Crustaceous pulled into port on time today, but no sign of the Crazy Awen or the new Lead Catfish that morning. Crew of the Audacious Crustaceous whispered they witnessed the forming of a st°rm on the horizon before they arrived at NearEastland. The news was spreading round the Capitol like wildfire by the afternoon - are the st°rms back? Do the gods curse us? The Captain of the Audacious Crustaceous swears up and down it did not look supernatural in nature. By 1pm the peasantry were blaming the bad luck on the Queen for failing to host a traditional naming ceremony for the new ship. By evening the words 'by me White Dove' had become a cuss, given her proclamation is apparently why the ceremony did not go ahead on time.
A worse for wear pair of ships docked safely in the harbour that night. Both the Crazy Awen and the Lead Catfish's crew lamented the st°rm, with conflicting accounts of whether it was supernatural or not. Alas, the Capitol was so awash with outlandish rumours by morning it is nearly impossible to determine the truth. Hypothesising on the nature of what happened is a current popular pastime. Both ships require moderate repairs, though with the current price of lumber it would be no surprise if only the most barebones of repairs are made.
Speaking of, the cost of lumber continues to skyrocket as the Capitol's constructions slow to a crawl. The Crown now has auditors operating in the city to monitor the use of the good and determine whether a project is authorised. The shipyard has been granted an exemption and may continue to operate unimpeded for the Good of the Capitol, but that unfortunately does not reflect on lumber costs which have skyrocketed to an eyewatering 12 Sovereigns per ship. In the meantime, a wave of crime has swept through the city as particular choice beams and boards are stolen from right under people's noses. The Queen's Dove pub collapsed in the wee hours of the morning, locals report a quiet sawing sound coming from the property.
The slowing of new buildings going up has paradoxically led to a small bump in demand for sand. Glassblowers have an opportunity to improve their processes and catch up on their orders.

New MechanicsShip auto-voyage and Route order: To make it official: Your ships will automatically leave port following their previous route unless the route is changed via ACTACTACT (or according to your contracted terms, which take precedent).
Ships operating on automatic will
default to the Roster order presented in the Turn under Ships and Voyages. The current order is below:
Glowing Manta, Audacious Crustaceous, Crazy Ayen, Lead Catfish.
Following this example, Glowing Manta leaves port first and Lead Catfish last. If a storm hit later in the day, Glowing Manta may be unaffected but Lead Catfish may be caught out.
This is more for later, but there may be instances where you wish to change the launch order: such as if you have information that suggests a specific position is safer or that certain routes are dangerous at particular times, or if you have items that benefit you in certain positions. If you would like to change your turn order then you may use ACTACTACT to launch your ships. Ships launched using ACTACTACT will
launch first in chronological order, then automatic ships will be launched in roster order after all ACTACTACT ships have been processed.
ACTACTACT positions do not roll over between turns. Should contracts be made between companies/merchants for Roster placement I will honour them and adjust roster positions accordingly. Remember that ships above you in the Roster may be on different routes to you -
only ships going in the same direction will affect your position. There are situations where ships may be on different
routes but travelling in the same
direction. This doesn't apply if you are the only ship on a route.
with a celebration.
The Queen will reimburse 30% of the cost of each Hunter hired in the next 3 months. The cost shall be reimbursed in Early Autumn after the ceremony. This can be applied to multiple Hunters - so if a Merchant or Company spent 9s on Hunters, they would receive 3s back.
