Turn 5
╚═━┈┈━═╝Mid Summer Year 1 TURNTURNTURN⦓ ⍝The Elder Gods writhe in their Slumber⍝ ⦔Ferdinand ReturnsHear Ye Hear Ye! As a great many ships leave the Capitol, something was spotted on the horizon to the North! A familiar ship docked in the harbour.
The now rotund Ferdinand Hiptapamoose Rochester was seen waddling off his vessel at noon today. In jovial spirits, he recounted tales of a deceptively austere-looking people with a penchant for raising a beast of burden known as a Yak. Yak produce was a big part of their culture, from milk to meat to fur to sacred items made from the quad-horns and tails. They have perfected a delectable smoking technique, something about burying the meat and smoking it underground for days. Despite their stern appearance, Ferdinand and his crew had found them to be a generous, generous people. At this point in his tale Ferdinand had absentmindedly started to nibble on one of the rare wares he brought back with him. He was hurried off to a meeting with the Northern Route Co-operative to provide the charts and proof of wares before he could eat them all. Speculation has already begun about this exotic treat, particularly among the bored nobility.
Sand Prices Plummet, Industry Growing but Lagging Behind60 units of sand sold to market has caused prices to plummet. Both the glass blowing and construction industry are pleased however and have continued to ramp up production. All over the Capitol, bordered up holes have been replaced with window glass. Even the peasantry now collect trinkets of coloured sand vials to display proudly and wear about their person as good luck charms.
Catch the Pigeon Dove Meanwhile, rumours of the
Snow White Dove have abounded. The Queen has ordered many an artistic rendition, and a few pubs have renamed themselves to bring in business. Her Majesty's obsession has become the butt of a few jokes.
A proclamation given today has declared the Queen will grant
2 Royal Favor to the one who catches the creature and presents it to Court. Her Majesty has also decreed to generously refund 1 Sovereign to every Hunter who partakes in the Grand Hunt over the next
3 months. The reimbursement shall happen the day the Snow White Dove is presented to Court, irregardless of when that is.
The Royal PostThe companies
Happy Crab LLC and
Wavebreaker-LLC have received letters in the post, sealed in red wax with the Royal Seel Seal. Her Majesty appreciates the attempted contributions towards exploratory ventures and offers her cordial condolences. It seems the Court has acquired knowledge of a route to the
West; of fervent interest to the Capitol. As such these particular charts shall remain public. A
Public Tender shall be issued in
Winter to select
one ship for an initial trading mission to determine quality of goods. After the ships return, the charts shall be publicised
in the interest of reminding the peasantry what a Grand and Magnificent country they live in - For the good of all mankind.
You suspect this tender might be a sneaky way of saving the Crown money, but you don't voice your suspicions as the letters mentioned you have
gained favor with the Queen.
[+1 Favor]Rumours, Ill Omens, Bold ExplorersIn other news, a drunk Ferdinand Hiptapamoose Rochester was rumoured to have been spreading tales of Disquieted Seas. Something is out there, he says, and he plans to lay low lest he finds out what it is. The
Lady Igraine, his drinking buddy, was heard scoffing at this. She doesn't seem too impressed with his jolly jaunt north and was heard saying she's itching for a real adventure.

New MechanicsDisquieted Seas: You all knew this was coming
Ocean life is dangerous as any sailor knows. What horrors lurk out there in the great beyond? Ships are now at the mercy of mother nature and worse things. Beware.
Event: The Hunt is On! with a celebration.
The Queen will reimburse 30% of the cost of each Hunter hired in the next 3 months. The cost shall be reimbursed in Early Autumn after the ceremony. This can be applied to multiple Hunters - so if a Merchant or Company spent 9s on Hunters, they would receive 3s back.
Edit: It has been brought to my attention a Royal Favor FAQ would be beneficial, so I'll start putting that together.
