Hear Ye Hear Ye! Both the Glowing Mantra and Audacious Crustaceous have returned unscathed, laden with goods! The crews are jovial after visiting the idyllic island in the East.

In other news, an impeccably dressed fellow with a fancy plumed hat has recently been seen around town. Ferdinand Hiptapamoose Rochester, aspiring untested explorer and heartthrob, strikes a suave pose in the town square and makes a declaration. Satisfied the peasantry have  been appropriately awed by his majesty, he declares he has a vessel, and deeply held suspicions about an island to the North. He wiggles his impeccably waxed moustache as he pays the Town crier to spread the news.

Ferdinand Hiptapamoose Rochester will be accumulating sponsors for his Grand Expedition North. He will accept any donations coming his way, but anyone who pays him 3 Sovereigns* will gain exclusive rights to his charts.

New Explorers:
Occasionally NPC explorers will have an inkling of new destinations and seek funding for their voyages. You can Donate to an explorers with ACTACTACT:.

A sufficiently large donation will guarentee that the Explorer will sell exclusive rights to their charts. The merchant or group who submit the biggest donation receives the charts. Just like with ships, companies can crowdfund to ensure the exclusivity target is reached. Merchants and Companies can lend, trade or create contracts for use of their charts as they wish. *In the event multiple Merchants or Companies competitively bid for the same exclusivity rights, the largest bid wins and the smaller bids are refunded.

In the case of the exclusivity target not being reached, smaller donations can still add to the likelihood of the journey succeeding. The crown looks kindly on those donating to the good of the kingdom, and these selfless endeavours may sometimes generate Royal Favor. If the exclusivity target is reached by another donator, all small donations will be refunded.

Royal Favor: It is always good to be in with the Queen. Currently, Royal Favour cannot be spent on anything, but rumours swirl of it's priceless value... What doors could this open for you in the future?

A1s, in light of the Crazy Aywen not yet reaching funding, would you like to adjust the terms of the loan? I was thinking of retroactively reducing the interest for the past two turns to 5%, and extending the limit to turn 6.

Would the shareholders of the Glowing Manta be interested in putting together a bid for exclusivity? I'm pretty sure we can win out against the current competition if we don't cheap out.

I'm thinking something like each person who contributed to the bid*  gets an equal share/a vote** in decision making on how/if we trade, rent, or share the charts with other entities. Any profits/goods from such deals are split equally among us.
I'd also like free use of the chart for the Manta, in perpetuity. And/Or free use extended to any ship that remains 100% wholly owned by the chart shareholders?

*(maybe include a minimum bid, but I'd hope we'd all commit if we are serious about winning.)

Increasing my share in the "Crazy Aywen" by 1 pending my sell of sand.

The undersigned agree to share-based joint ownership of a trading vessel to be named "Crazy Aywen", which shall initially traverse the NearEastlands route.
Each investor receives shares equal to the number of Sovereigns they contribute. 10 shares are available. Each share entitles the holder to 1/10th of the goods delivered by the Crazy Aywen upon returning to harbor. Each share also requires the holder to pay 1/10th of any costs incurred in the regular operation of the vessel (eg repairs), failure to pay resulting in shares being seized and auctioned, with proceeds first used to cover the repairs and, should any money remain, returned to the former shareholder.
Crazy Aywen will automatically be sent to the highest paying route (measured in sovereigns/turn) available to it's shareholders.
Any changes to the Crazy Aywen operations require a majority of shares to agree. Any changes to this contract require all shares to agree.

On turn 0, KashKow Enterprises loans Aywen Ayes 2 sovereigns, to be repaid with 0.1 sovereign/turn interest for the first two turns, and then 0.2 sovereign/turn interest until turn 6. This loan may be resolved early by paying off the currently accrued interest and principle.

Ah, I didn't mean to suggest I wanted to amend the Manta contract, I do intend it to be its own contract.
