STEAM: stockpile woes
« on: December 28, 2022, 08:19:18 am »

I am setting up some quantum stockpiles for my farm fields.
I noticed that the 1x1 stockpiles I am placing do not obey their stockpile settings.
For example, the stockpile that is set to only accept cave wheat has 1 cave wheat, a quarry bush, a quarry bush leaf and a plump helmet on it's single tile. I have no minecarts feeding it yet, I just started putting down the stockpiles and building the tracks. Dwarves hauled those items to that stockpile.

So yeah, not only does the stockpile not obey my stockpile setting, it seems that stockpiles in general now can have multiple items in 1 tile, don't know if that's intentional?

Three different subterranean plants... sounds like a harvester/gatherer hauled them to the stockpile in one load and dumped them all.

There is something to be said about, if the stakes are as high, maybe reconsider your certitudes. One has to be aggressively allistic to feel entitled to be able to trust. But it won't happen to me, my bit doesn't count etc etc... Just saying, after my recent experiences I couldn't trust the public if I wanted to. People got their risk assessment neurons rotten and replaced with game theory. Folks walk around like fat turkeys taunting the world to slaughter them.

That's my thought too. Dwarves will gather a bunch of plants to carry in one trip when they're harvesting or gathering.

When I made my first food stockpile to unload my wagon, seed bags were placed atop barrels of wine.  Nothing special disallowed, just a normal default Food stockpile, but it was odd to see the stacking.

It must have indeed been a single drop-off of multiple plant gatherings.
And yes, it looks like container items like bags and barrels can stack with another item on a single tile.
