Oh, the fairies join civs because I've added [LOCAL_POPS_CONTROLLABLE] and [LOCAL_POPS_PRODUCE_HEROES] to them. I just copied some standard edits I do to the raws and, well, I guess fairies were on the list. Just don't put them on hauling duty and they're ok.

Naked monks? Maybe it's the same issue that's with naked performance troupes traveling from tavern to tavern?

If there's visitors who're listed as citizens, I'm fine with keeping them. The bigger problem is the visitors who're listed as hostile as you can't really do anything to them. I tried make-citizen, which worked, but caused at a later point crashes, so I had to revert to a save before it - so, best not to use dfhackery with them.

...Or we could just arrange some "accidents", but don't know how that'd fit with our peaceful little capybara hamlet.

It's always possible that a certain poet might take a shortcut over the frozen lake to fetch some lumber in the early days of Granite...

Oh, nobody remembered to tell him the ice thaws around the 10th or so?

"Oops".

The poet isn't a citizen yet but start of next year he will have to go and fetch a book from the other side of the river. Hopefully once he becomes fully controllable he will expel normally so we don't have to ruin the Peaceful Capybara village.

That's actually a perfect artifact for Waterlures: most of our stuff is anyway made out of wood and everyday objects seems more fitting for a non-military oriented fort hamlet full of (amazing) bath-swine.

So posting my save, really got my three years done and will update on my years soon. Its currently 442.
https://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=16087

Here is the TLDR of what i got up to

- New bridge into a tower on the otherside of the map, thinking an observatory for our new astronomer
- Books everywhere still being cleaned up three years later
- We have had quite a few artifacts  posting below
- Sadly our fairy did die. She would keep flying up somewhere, get dehydrated and have to be saved.
- Culled our animals, far too many animals which kept causing the citizens to readjust their pathfinding.

An observatory sounds like a good addition.

I guess no new births or marriages?

Next up would be you @Salmeuk! What's your situation?

(If you're busy, I can do a quick turn to keep the story rolling. I've still got plenty of time and no turns in other community forts yet, I think.)

Awesome list of rather earthy artifacts.

Go ahead and take the turn brewer, I am mid-way through a work week and have to plan out a new adventure for my irl tabletop group. something about ghost villages, mist-covered bridges and a crazed man in the mountains.

I like the idea of an observatory. How about a scriptorium as an addition to the library? somewhere to work vs. somewhere to store books. Not sure if current library mechanics support this kind of differentiation however.

Alright. I'll switch our places on the list then.

Good luck with the ttrpg! (Such a long time since I've managed to get my friends together for one - everyone's always so busy with work/family these days.)

The library actually has on it's lower levels something that could be called a 'scriptorium' or maybe they're more like classrooms or sumhin'. There's really no way to differentiate, I guess, unless you make two separate libraries with the scriptorium having the scribes/scholars and writing material (and no bookcases, maybe)? Will look into it tomorrow.

(Edit. Apparently I remembered the turn list wrong and you were already after me Salmeuk.)

Hah, missed this one. Sort of fitting for the wombat man as he worships a very suspicious deity. (More on that maybe later...)

No new births sadly but its a pleasent small community. If the pop falls below 20 no strangemoods occur so hopefully some more Capybara romances happen, released the newest Capybara hadn't been fixed with DF hack so will be interesting to see if anymore come about. Also the DF wiki is wrong about Capybara men maturing at 1 but would be cool if we get to the point where its just the newest generation of Capybara. Although it will lose that unqiue community such as the wombat man and other animal people.

Yeah, I think all (or most) animal people become adults at 12.

I'll probably bring some more capies to the village on my turn. I'll DFHack marry two couples of them, just to make sure we get at least some births. I realized that the fort has been around over 15 years already and animal people grow old much faster (I think maxage was around 60:80), so the age difference to be an eligible spouse is probably also smaller, right?

Dang that's a lot of artifacts, glad I was one of the ones that made one.

Just snagged the save and looking at it.

Holy crap! What has happened on the surface? There's literally books scattered EVERYWHERE. Lol. This will take *some* time to clean.

Also, what's with the stocks? We've got something ~2000 of everything. That's like over 10x as much as we need.  :o

Guess we get to trade quite a lot of surplus in the coming years...
