This is an important public announcement.

I have some good news and some bad news.

Good news is that our stock of greek wine just spontaneously doubled.

The bad news is that he, you know who, just multiplied. He literally experienced mitosis. Now there are two perpetually drunk immortal 18-year-olds with god powers to look out for.

You know what, screw those two. Just let them have the tavern, and lock the door on them. Presumably forever. While I will be digging out a new one just underneath.

I am planning on carving it out of lavacast obsidian. It's gonna be great. I promise.

Why build a new tavern when you could just go to another one, I mean it's not like there's only one of the things.

Toady will smash me to atoms if he learns that I lost a tavern. I summoned Dioynsus, by speaking of him. so I am the reason for all this.

There is also change of plans. the new tavern will be above the old one, and the floors will be made of glass blocks. So we can watch those two bastards cope and seethe while hanging out in the tavern.

I highly doubt you'd be smashed, I mean you'd have to do way worse than lose a tavern before that'd happen.

Destroying taverns is not a bannable offense!  It's a tradition of my DND group, actually.
Whenever we had downtime, we inevitably began to experiment with The Deck Of Many Things or similar, houseruled, wondrous items.  We bore no ill will to the proprietors, who generally survived.  Their taverns were merely a casualty of our weaponized boredom.

We gained ownership of a tavern as part of the Dragon Heist (I think, it was Watersdeep).  Spoiler alert:  Have fun with that.
I truly understand the difference between brutally cunning and cunningly brutal.

This is very good.  It deserves repeating.

I was trying to pray to Aphrodite/Venus a while ago.  Let's try that again.
Let me be seen as I want to be seen.  It is one thing to be strong, it is another to look strong.  I want to *look powerful yet approachable.

Being a healer of Sirona would also be very good.
The forces I respect don't exactly have names, but we humans approximate them with names.

I thought about praying to know how I want to be seen.

Wouldn't that be so cursed?  Praying to no longer be free.  Knowing the "ideal" me, and forever striving to look that way.  Like a reverse Narcissus.
No, it is better this way, even if there is an "ideal" me.
The same way it's (supposedly) a curse to know one's death.  Or one's Destiny-with-a-capital-D at all.

Let a part of us hunt forever like Orion, with our dogs/partners.
Ever seeking the scorpion Scorpius.

I love Orion.  So easy to find him in the sky, along with the Big Dipper for northbound slaves.

Edit: Forget Orion, the big dipper points towards Polaris, which is near the little dipper.  Ursus major and minor.

Edit2: but Orion's shoulders point to Polaris, right?

The careful text-books measure
(Let all who build beware!)
The load, the shock, the pressure
Material can bear.
So, when the buckled girder
Lets down the grinding span,
The blame of loss, or murder,
Is laid upon the man.
Not on the Steel—the Man!

But in our daily dealing
With stone and steel, we find
The Gods have no such feeling
Of justice toward mankind.
To no set gauge they make us—
For no laid course prepare—
And in time they overtake us
With loads we cannot bear—
Too merciless to bear.

The prudent text-books give it
In tables at the end:
The stress that shears a rivet
Or makes a tie-bar bend—
What traffic wrecks macadam—
What concrete should endure—
But we, poor Sons of Adam,
Have no such literature,
To warn us or make sure!

We hold all Earth to plunder—
All Time and Space as well—
Too wonder-stale to wonder
At each new miracle;
Till, in the mid-illusion
Of Godhead 'neath our hand,
Falls multiple confusion
On all we did or planned—
The mighty works we planned.

We only in Creation
(How much luckier the bridge and rail!)
Abide the twin damnation—
To fail and know we fail.
Yet we—by which sole token
We know we once were Gods—
Take shame in being broken
However great the odds—
The Burden or the Odds.

Oh, veiled and secret Power
Whose paths we seek in vain,
Be with us in our hour
Of overthrow and pain;
That we—by which sure token
We know Thy ways are true—
In spite of being broken,
Or because of being broken,
May rise up and build anew—
Stand up and build anew.

What kind of tribute should we give ourselves?
