Rhian couldn't suppress a hiss of pain, but stood her ground, once again regretting her choice of attire.
"There's still something not right here. I'm not going to fight until I know what's wrong. Even if this Mamkute is full of shit, he might damn well be the last one alive, and I sure as hell don't want the return of the Dark God on my hands. You hear me, Eshlyn?" She picks up her axe and stands between her and the dragon - placing Jernigan in clear view of her.

L8, Talk

Rhian's expression twists with barely-suppressed rage. "If everyone's safe, then leave, before you and your wyvern get fried." She speaks viciously, as if delivering a hail of scathing insults.

Emilia considers the words as she flinches away from the Dragon's strikes. Her clothes are torn; she briefly mourns their ruin. This was quite a nice dress.

Still, more pressing matters were at hand. She could always have a new one tailored.
"No, you're right. We can't be sure that the one we have is not a forgery. But we also cannot be sure that the King's is not a forgery either. The only way for us to prove either one is to have both examined by a neutral party. If the King has nothing to hide, surely he has nothing to fear by proving that his Emblem is genuine. As a sister of the Warriors, and as an honorable knight, I am sure that you realise the interests of justice for Dunland's people are best served if the King proves himself to his people after that display, and not at all served by killing what may be the last being standing between us and the Dark God's return.

Furthermore, if they were truly malevolent, there were so many other ways to dispose of the King instead of this that would be surefire, easier to do than attacking a fortified castle with more soldiers than anywhere else in Dunland on this very day, at this very moment. I've seen desperation. I've known it. We're not fighting a monster or Spawnkin."

She stumbles, leaning on her staff. That swipe had left her quite sore, but no deep wounds. Nothing worse than she'd gone through in the war.

"I ask you again, esteemed Mamkute. Stay your hand, hear us out and let us help you. Is there anything else you know, anything at all that can help us uncover the truth?"
Talk to the Mamkute.

Something abour Rork's words seems to pluck on Thrum's sense of self.
"Nnnngh... Fine, fine, fine! As long as both His Majesty and the Dragon behave, I'll stay my hand. But I'll reserve the right to defend myself!"

Thrum's behaviour cools down. He will no longer pursue attacking the Dragon and will take all commands into consideration.

"... We'd just need both Emblems in the same place. But how to find a neutral party? That will be the difficult part, given the importance of the Emblem and the bloodline of Charos as a whole. And doing such will be in vain if we can't keep the Mamkute in check, which is certainly my priority right now... I hope the Mamkute will give in under pressure, for words don't seem to reach that one any time soon."

Eleshyn remains steadfast.

"... I am sorry, Maiden Warrior."
The Dragon suddenly rises a claw, ready to rapidly descent it upon Emilia.

"Sister!"

The Dragon roars, but it was cut short as one of Jernigan's throwing spears finds its mark inbetween the scales on the raised forearm, forcing the Dragon to use the claw for support instead of a strike.

"I won't leave unless everyone is safe. That includes you, your comrades, your liege, the Duchess, Sir Thrum, and the Mamkute at present here. Please forgive me, wrathful dragon, I only wished to prevent you doing what you would have regretted soon."

The Dragon loses 1 BP!

"Self-righteous talk. I know you are not of Charos, so I am willing to spare you, but do not meddle into this battle!"
"... From cloud to cloud, from scale to scale, it is our mission, harmony without fail."

The Dragon visibly tenses up.

"Who taught you these words, landwalker?!"
"I will tell you, if you do your part in harmony."

There is an angry growl coming from the Dragon. Angry, but also reticent.

Lulu finds it hard to even move from the safety of her pillar. She needs to do at least something Dunas says but what CAN she even do against something like that? But her shiny senses are tingling as she sees something off a little ways. Is it even worth gambling her safety to check that out? She only really gambles when she rigs the deck.

"Hnnng... Please be something useful!" Lulu mutters to herself as she takes the chance to investigate the shiny. The Dragon seems a bit preoccupied anyways.

Lulu gets out of cover and moves over to L3 to investigate the shiny

As Lulu approaches, she realizes more with every step what she is seeing on the floor. A circular, gem-studded disk. In other words, the very Fire Emblem itself. But was it a fake, or the real one? As she picks it up, weighting it in her hands, the red gem begins to glow. A sure indication she is of Minor Charos. Chances are, this is the true Fire Emblem. The miniscule dent at the rim certainly suggests that it got dropped from higher up, like, say, a prince standing within the elevated area of the throne, tumbling down the stairs.

Arnston likely dropped it during the ensuing chaos. Not surprising, he had no value in what he perceived as a forgery after all.

Lulu acquires the Fire Emblem.

On a second look, Lulu's keen eyes notice something. It is very faint, but it seems like there's a slightly-darker blot at the center of the Emblem. It could almost be taken for a stain... except it moved and shifted just slightly.

". . . Damn you," she said quietly. He was just doing what she would do. Was already trying to do. She turned to the dragon instead, her teeth audibly grinding. She tried to say something to talk the Mamkute down, but she couldn't manage anything but a frustrated growl. Rhian couldn't be calm with someone who'd threatened Emilia like that, even without his presence.

Maria considered her options. She didn't want to shout all across the hall, if worse came to worst as it had right now, Duchess Eleshyn might misunderstand her words and become only more agitated to fight the mamkute.
Here was hoping that her Idea would work out in the end.

"UGH! It's just the stupid emblem! Can't even sell this thing without Dunas killing me!" The girl whines, though something catches her eye. The dent she can piece together but she could've sworn that blot moved on the center of this thing. No it's probably her nerves just getting to her right? There's no way it actually...

"Okay, no. This is bugging me now. Let me just wipe this blot off real quick." She licks her the tip of her thumb real quick before trying to polish off that blot from the center of this emblem. Its probably just a scuff mark from the drop just like the dent right?

As Lulu attempts to clean the blot, realizing that it is within the Emblem and not onto it, the blot stirs slightly and she experiences the most unexpected thing ever.
The barely-audible whisper of a boy, fading as swiftly as it came.
...a...er...
Sir Dunas notices now that Lulu has scurried away and realizes her holding the Fire Emblem, the red gem glowing in her hands.

"Lulu! When did you...!?"
"... This must be fate, then."
"I command you, Lulu, hand it over to me."

As Thrum calmed down Eiriol nodded and turned to the dragon

"See Mister big dragon Mister big Guy Thrum calmed down and now Mister Jernigan, so you can calm down now and then Miss fancy lady will also calm down once you do. Then we can  figure things then we can work together to go bonk the actual bad guys." Eiriol said nodding

Injured from attacks more with the speed of wind than claws, Artair tears the sleeve of her dress to address the wound before speaking.

"I would have your name Mamukete. If you insist on raising your hands against us, even as we try to talk" swingk

To O-11. Leaf on the Wind. Focus through the pain.. Keep your eyes and ears ready. If words alone are not enough for them..

"..." Artair stares at them, blade held steady despite the blood soaking through the makeshift bandage.

Emilia....doesn't even flinch at almost being struck by the Mamkute.

At least, not visibly. The Maiden Warrors were made of sterner stuff.

"...I see."
She goes over to Rhian to check on her wounds, again without even breaking stride.

Ceodor to J11, perform for Emilia
Emilia to K8, heal Rhian

"... That is what I am here for, youngling. I am here to 'bonk', as you would say it, the bad guy, Greoger!"

The Dragon follows Artair's trail with a side-glance. She looks at Rhian afterwards.

"Now that is the spirit. As remorseful as I am, attacking this Maiden seems to finally get you in the right mood. Just talk, talk, talk... There are things that cannot be resolved with mere words alone, as much as I wish for otherwise. Let me pass, or match my claws with your steel!"

The Dragon can no longer be successfully Talked to.

"Attagirl. Can't just stand here and twiddle my thumbs while you all do the heavy lifting. Pa ain't raised me like that. Behold, scaly thingy!"
Ceodor begins to slowly and weirdly move his arms and hands around while muttering barely-audible chants and staring with unusual intensity. The Dragon observes him, squinting eyes in careful exasperation. In other words, enough distraction to allow Emilia to slip away.

Quote from: Ceodor's Bolster
Emilia can move again!

Emilia arrives next to Rhian, ignoring the static aura surrounding her building up as she treats Rhian's wounds.

Quote from: Emilia's Heal
Rhian restores 17 HP and is back at maximum.

Meanwhile, further north in the hall.

"Thank you, Lulu. Now I can..."
"... Can I, though? I mustn't... But... Argh..."

Dunas seems troubled and distressed, murmuring to himself. He is now treated as an Ally, not taking direct commands, but can be Talked to.

Ally Turn

As Thrum moves around to protect Ceodor and preventing the Dragon from moving around further, Eleshyn steps to Maria, sheathing her sword and channeling the power of holy wards against the Dragon.

Quote from: Eleshyn vs Dragon
Eleshyn is of two bloodlines!
Eleshyn remains defiant!
Eleshyn is on a Mission!

Hit: 49(95). Hit!
Crit: No
Ignis: 28(20)
Dragon takes 3 damage, converted to 1 BP loss!

Dragon counterattacks!
Hit: 71(64). Miss!

Jernigan hovers where he entered the hall, calmly speaking.
"Must I repeat myself? Let harmony dictate our future."
"You... I have yet to recognize you as an ally of our kin! The sacred words are therefore meaningless out of your mouth!"
"Does Marquis Riodo ring a bell? He was a good friend and my partner in ruling the peninsula close to Wyrmpeak before Duke Laspa came to be."
"... I am acquainted with all these names... But him having been an ally doesn't mean you are, too."
"A shame you see things that way. If you won't calm down soon, I'll make my move. And you will not like it."

"Can I...? Should I...?"

Enemy Turn

A fury of sweeping claws emerge once more. Eleshyn could not bear the pressure any longer.

Emilia takes 9 damage.
Maria takes 9 damage.
Rhian takes 8 damage.
Rork takes 8 damage.

Eleshyn takes 14 damage. Downed!
Thrum takes 3 damage.

Multiple spaces are blasted by a burst of electricity. Unfortunately, in her vigor to heal Rhian, she notices the incoming bolt too late before she got knocked out.
Quote from: Gathering Storm
Emilia takes 13 damage. Downed!

"... A... Are they...?"

The Dragon seems visibly disturbed and uncomfortable after the berserker-esque strikes subside.

"No... No... They've been warned... You can do it. You can do it. I need to..."

With a sudden roar that seems more like gathering courage than to intimidate, electricity surrounds the Dragon and also gathers in the maw, an odem of lightning unleashed at the massive knight.
