Right then. B/C hybrid option it is.

Flesh bubbles up from the floor of the corridor, stretching towards the ceiling. While the leading edge is a grisly red, the lower section gradually takes on the appearance of wood and brick. In short order, the passage is completely blocked off, and the newborn mimic has taken on the appearance of a wooden door in a brick wall. You'll have to take my word for it, because all this takes place outside the reach of the adventurer's torchlight, so no one can see it happen.

The adventurers consider the door blocking their passage.
[5]* One of the armoured ones knocks on the wooden door. They then knock on the brick wall- which makes the same sound. "Fake", they inform their comrades, before thrusting their sword into the door. Contrary to its wooden appearance and texture, the door is easily rent, blood spilling from the open wound. A few more stabs, and the mimic collapses, dissolving into the floor, leaving behind only a tiny gemstone, which the adventurers pocket.
Seeing yet more featureless corridor stretching before them, the adventurers briefly debate their next course of action. They ultimately decide to delve a little deeper, but turn round when a little walking yields no more excitement (as you do not have enough energy to present them a new obstacle yet). You overhear them complaining that the gem dropped by the mimic won't even pay for a round at the bar, let alone the cost of hiring the bandit, but the mage expresses a theory that there may be more to this dungeon than meets the eye. It would be difficult for it to be any less than meets the eye, to be fair.

Disappointment is not the most delectable of emotions, but it's something. And if you know adventurers- which you do, apparently, even though you don't remember encountering any before- they, or others like them, will be back. Even the rather boring "Mystery of the Empty Corridor" is something to do on a rainy day, a respite from more intense adventures elsewhere.

The mimic will respawn in a day or two, unless you opt to recycle it. It didn't seem very effective- in fact, you're not sure it could've even hurt the adventurers in any way (skimping on cost will do that). You might opt to keep it for sentimental reasons, though.

A: Scrap it.
B: Keep it.

Either way you have enough energy to do a little more work on yourself (more effectively if you do recycle the mimic). What will it be?

A: Improve Layout. Even just a few corners and alcoves would spice things up a bit.
B: Summon Monsters. A handful of wandering beasties to explore the outside and offer a token challenge to explorers.
C: Save It. You're an endless dungeon, there's no rush. You can wait around for a few weeks, or months, or even years if necessary- then unleash what you scrounge together on a more impressive upgrade.
(Or something else)

*Adventurers are unpredictable creatures. At times, they will respond differently to problems based on what seems like random chance. Like someone is rolling a six-sided die, with higher numbers being better for the adventurers. This won't happen every time for every group, only at key moments.

I’m going to say Scrap it and invest in A. Improving the layout.

With some twists and turns and maybe some rooms, maybe we will attract denizens who are looking for a place to hide.

Also, adventurers are going to be more willing to explore if there are nooks and crannies, and where would the monsters live? Just endlessly walking the same corridor?

No big opinion on the mimic, but I’d lean that our Fractal Dungeon likes to be creative, and the mimic didn’t do much to impress our last guests.

You name the mimic Matt, for now. You'll get 'em next time, Matt.

There's an interesting thing about being a Fractal Dungeon. At a glance, you'd think changing your entire layout would have an infinite cost- after all, you go on forever. However, Zeno will tell you that's not quite how things pan out. Which is fortunate, because it would kinda suck to be a featureless corridor forever.
With only a faint rumbling heard outside, your interior shifts. Irregularly spaced corners (all 90 degrees) are created- no junctions, for now. Every so often, the walls recede to create alcoves (half as deep as the corridor is wide)- useful for hypothetical monsters to hide in, perhaps. There's no decor, no variation to alcove size or corner angle, but hey- better than a straight corridor.

You wait around for a week, twiddling your metaphorical thumbs, before someone approaches you again. Adventurers, party of three. It appears the same mage is back, but with different companions: a second mage, and a moderately armoured one wielding twin axes. The axe-wielder seems disinterested in your dramatic entrance, but the second mage shares the first's curiosity. They spend some time standing just outside of you, examining the carvings on the pillars. Wafts of their curiosity and excitement reach you, but only enough to make you hungry. Or, well, the dungeon equivalent of hungry.
Eventually they enter, the axe wielder moving ahead. They soon reach a corner, which causes the first mage to exude a large quantity of excitement. He explains to his companions that there was definitely no corner here before, and that this proves this dungeon is in an infantile state. The second mage seems intrigued by the suggestion, and when she mentions the possibility of a poorly-defended dungeon core at the end of the dungeon, the axe-wielder becomes interested as well. They seem to think that you cannot be that deep at such a young age, and that your 'boss' is likely weak- yet your core may be very valuable.
Joke's on them, of course. You have no end, no boss, and no core. But they don't need to know that.
They agree to delve deeper, in search of the fictional finale. They soon encounter Matt... who doesn't achieve anything this time either, taking a handful of axe blows before collapsing. However, their greed, excitement, anticipation- it's a far more delicious meal than your previous fare. You could spice things up for them if you wanted to...

A: Throw a horde of weak monsters at them.
B: Throw one moderately strong monster at them.
C: Block their path with a confounding puzzle.
D: Place a modest artifact in an alcove.
