You start crawling as quickly as possible, only to realize that doing so creates a large amount of noise in this cramped metal vent! All the more reason to move faster.

Even over the din of your own clanking and banging, you realize a change in the sound from further in. It approaches rapidly, and then its limb is around your leg, thorns digging and catching. They're sharp indeed- but don't yet pierce through the armored bags wrapped around your legs.

You look over at the creature grasping you. Its central body is the carapace of a crab, though the creature's "front" is not aligned with the shell but at a 90 degree offset, leaving the thing asymmetrical. Facing you, where a crab's pincer would be is a beak on a birdlike neck, resembling the maw of a squid. From the side, where a crab's eyes and mouth would be, five limbs have burst from within the shell, each covered in thorns and dripping with sap. Just one clutched your leg with considerable force, and more reach out towards you. A single buzzing, feathered dragonfly wing juts radially from the creature, trying yet failing to propel it further down this shaft.
The animal does not appear to have any eyes or other specific sensory organs.

Round 5 - Hmjirvyr!

Hmjirvyr Second performs the traditional manuver of scuttling around evasively before whalloping DATA CORRUPTED. Who is smacked effortlessly into the air by a claw swipe, vulnerable to further attack! Unless DATA CORRUPTED performs a Core Burst to cancel the stagger...

Hmjirvyr Also performs a similar identical manuver to its sibling, advancing erratically before slammiung into 'It'.

Armjirvir Arm covers for its ranged ally, which doesn't stop it from oppurtunistically nibbling on the vulnerable Baron.

The Gunjirvir is still reeling from Unit-fi-01's Armed assault and thus cannot attack. One of the Hmjirvyrs is collapsed in a pile of its own vicera, which likewise prevents it from acting!

Round 6 - Ichor Units

Aleph-4-2 steps up to the enemy, visibly vibrating with rage, and puts all of its strength into a huge sweep. The two Hmjirvyr nimbly step over the swinging arm, while the Armjirvyr steps forward to protect the Gunjirvyr and eats shit for its trouble, being sent sailing into a metal bulkhead and exploding into a shower of cyan and shards of hard material.

The two remaining crabsquids prepare their counter attacks having escaped unscathed. But Aleph takes another step forwards, carrying the momentum from its rabid attack into a spin and another strike bashing the two melee enemies back, the one on the left sent smashing through the fragile Gunjirvyr, flattening it.

[DATA CORRUPTED] screeches with rage.  It feels incredible power coursing through its veins as it crackles with golden lightning.  it brings one fist down, then the other. When it looks at the result, it is satisfied with the gory result.   

The first punch pierces through the shell and out the other side, the second reduces the enemy to steaming meat and impacts the floor before carrying through the metal, revealing a dark world below.

Seemingly ignoring the carnage around it, Exile calmly steps forwards and stops before an empty spot in the room. It waits a moment before a crabsquid is bashed backwards by Aleph into that exact spot and Exile simply plunges its Exsanguination Bolt into the nearly dead creature. Instantly, the needle is filled with all of the moisture which once lived within that shell, and Exile feels an encouraging burst of energy, along with more hunger. It shouts, ready to finish off the enemy with all the more ferocity!-

Only to feel that power drain away just as quickly; the hanger in which the battle had taken place falls under silence.

Currently not sure if I want to continue this or start a different game which is like this and also completely different.

I haven't really tested all of the mechanics yet, we've still yet to see players making use of weapons, and we've only seen grunt enemies, so it might be good to see the mechanics for swarms and bosses.
But, the theming has gotten to the point that it feels pretty one-note, and all of the player characters having the same abilities feels a little boring. I may have also lost Ragnar and Horizon in the hiatus.

I got the idea to use this system for an SG with party based fights, basically riffing on Extinction. We'd have these kinds of fights, but with a party of more different characters with hopefully interesting abilities, and as an SG there's more potential for setting up combos and stuff, since it doesn't have to be coordinated between different players. I'd also keep the "style" mechanic where you get rewarded for describing the results of your own actions, because motivating my players to do my job for me seems appealing.

So, if you like those ideas and also a vertical-wolf girl, then praise me. If you like this game, also praise me. I mean you don't have to but I'd appreciate it.
This is a little bit structured like a request for feedback but I think I just needed to type down what I'm feeling for feelings reasons alright enough stalling I can do an update to Ichor real fast.

The hanger echos quiet. There is no more blood to take.
...There are a pair of autocannons lying in piles of cyan gore, however.

The silence is broken by an electromagnetic growl:
"Good work. It appears you incurred some damage. Not promising, but adjustments can be made."
A swarm of buzzing metal crashes in from above and envelops you before you can react. The tiny creatures burrow into your hull and cause your internals to itch.
"Oh, don't mind those. This is fine."

"Get in the lift."

There is a lift. It's big enough to hold all . of you.

...I also have no clue how you would merge this system with a character-driven SG about Awoo and friends.  Would be cool to see you try, though?
