Did Haspen really dedicate 27 of his rice to defense?

More like I changed my mind after you submitted your turn, but it's still in the backstabber category.
The rules forbid changing your orders, so I think the fact that your orders were technically invalid is more relevant.
The rules also don't allow surrender.
I don't agree. The rules don't say anything about surrender, and everything not forbidden is permitted.
Surrender is permitted, but it doesn't have any mechanics associated with it. It is, in essence, fluff.

I tried to play chess but two of my opponents were playing competitive checkers as a third person walked in with Game of Thrones in hand confused cause they thought this was the book club.

TricMagic and Kashyyk I don't have turns from you (either you didn't send one in, or I somehow lost them). If you don't want your whole budget going to defense, please (re)submit your turns today.

One more push before Ju falls. Shu's looking to scoop up Chu though, but Jin's knocking on their doors.

Your conquest of two of my provinces speaks differently.

You are in a position to threaten Yong, Kui, and Dhen. Meanwhile Qi's managed to get their hooks into Song. Bao, Xun, and Zhuang give you options to threaten a capital if you take them. Though if you strike near Chu you can expect me to enter your war posthaste.

Perhaps you should examine how much rice Jin has in comparison to mine.  Also note: I no longer qualify for a Kingdom title.
Also, my capital is clearly being threatened.

@Tric: Why are you handing Jin the game?

Er, sorry about that.  I meant to emphasis more strongly about the Jin Menace!
EDIT: The Ninjas are busy today...

Note that once you are a Kingdom, that can't be taken from you. Rice Bonus is permanent. Also I kinda expected you to fight as hard as you can. The Jin-Wu treaty is still active.
