Inside Eye blinks. Oh, that's right. Many billions of seconds have passed, parasites live to be less than one billion. That particular creature fully recuperated in its hidey hole, left, and died while Inside Eye was blinking, probably.

This requires gazing back along a line somewhat closer to parallel to the Second, and you learn... well, they appear to be different. A perfect overlap is impossible to find.
