The Breach
Thanks to a freak accidental arrangement of Ionic storms, the conditions became just right to create a breach in the fabric of reality. For barely an instant this world and another flowed into each other, releasing cataclysmic amounts of energy, both conventional and magical, into the world. The soup of high energy plasma, materials from the world of Dreams, and interdimensional energy fields created the perfect conditions for the formation of a strange sort of crystal. Trapping the dream matter in a clathrate with normal materials. Due to its nature, this Clathrate crystal itself also acted as a sort of... Contact point between this world and the World of Dreams, weakening the border between them and allowing the crystal to channel the strange energies of the Dream world, which exists in a higher energy state than our own universe. Unfortunately, such a large crystal forming in the mouth of a breach resulted in the release of enough energy to shatter the crystal in a massive explosion. The resulting spray of magic crystal shards and plasma generated an immense tear in the protective water layer of glass, creating a worldwide Ionic Storm that would ravage the planets for months as the Breach slowly collapsed, repeatedly generating more crystals over time which would explode and continue to power the storm long after it should have simply stopped. The end result was a world reshaped by a global storm, and scattered with crystals that channeled the power of another world, allowing magic of various types.

Stromata suffered from the occasional asteroid or meteor streaking through it's atmospheres, but nothing had ever caused as dramatic an event as the "Noosphere Breach". Deep within the Inner Planet a massive Ionic storm unlike any other was building, expanding, and obliterating anything nearby. The energy whipping around the eye of this storm managed to breach the fabric of reality itself, tearing a scar into this material plane and connecting it briefly with the realm of Dreams. In this scar formed a massive scab-like crystalline object, as if the realm of Dreams sought to seal the breach itself. Once this crystalline object fully sealed the spatial tear, the energy-infused crystal exploded with devastating force. Large chunks up to a kilometer wide were sent through the Water Membrane and shotgunned in many much smaller pieces into the Outer Planet. These small pieces could float in the various layers of the Outer Planet until they stuck into another material, embed into other floating materials, or fall back down to "float" on the surface of the Water Membrane. Smaller pieces formed in the initial explosion were overall much more substantial than the large chunks, and found themselves trapped in the Inner Planet. These smaller pieces became much more densely charged with their unique energy, as the foreign matter absorbed the power from Ionic Storms and did not shatter from them.

----

While a massive and unique event on it's own, this "Noosphere Breach" was not unique in the sense of cataclysmic events. The most extreme things become more common on a long enough timeline, after all. Create a second major event to shape the environment of your planet. As with before, it is probably acceptable so long as it is not a system altering event. This is the last turn before abiogenesis, so keep that in mind when crafting your proposals. The planet and it's surroundings may be altered in later prompts, but this is the last guaranteed opportunity to do so.

The Great Splash, or, Breaking the Water Barrier

One of the system's other developing planetoids - a small one, but dense - went into a collision course with Stromata. This particular planetoid was especially dense, and so it didn't come to rest in the Outer Planet; rather, it punched straight through the Water Membrane, creating massive upheaval as ion storms leaked out of the Inner Planet at unprecedented rates and intensities. At the same time, the remains of this planetoid were strong - while they had split into a handful of large pieces during the collision, the chaos of the Inner Planet was unable to shatter them further, leaving the region with a few "continents" of its own, albeit ones that could not truly be said to have a "top", merely a side that was currently facing upward. Some of these took to floating shortly below the Water Membrane; where they did, it would frequently be pushed slightly upward, and at the edges, ion storms were more easily able to slip out. Rotations could even see sections of these Inner Planet continents breach the Membrane, and temporarily reside amid the lower Outer Planet.

(For clarity's sake, the planetoid that collided with Stromata may be referred to as "Huagang".)
