Tunneler's Gear

As war on the surface turns into a bloody stalemate, it becomes apparent that we need to dig in and entrench ourselves to prevent losing any hard-fought ground. To facilitate this, we have created a set of tools to both fortify our own positions and undermine our enemy's, dependent on terrain. Softer earth calls for the use of the "clay kicking" technique, where one digger is reclined on a board and uses a scoop-like shovel at their feet to dig through the soil and clay without causing too much disturbance - or noise. When harder earth and stone are met, short-handled mattocks are used to break down the rock.

Tunneler's Gear also includes measuring equipment, surface maps, and flashlights to aid in accurately digging to and under enemy fortifications. Tunneler's Gear, finally, includes satchel charges containing a dozen sticks of relatively stable TNT. The sticks can be connected to a blasting machine with a spool of wire, and pushing down on the T-shaped handle of the machine will set off the electrical generator inside, sending a charge down the line and triggering the explosives. Tunnelers can wire more or less TNT to the machine based on need, 12 is just the standard number given out in any one satchel.

Dice Gods Say: You rolled a 7!

The Tunneler's Gear is newly designed equipment for Vornfolk troopers to use to try and get a leg-up in the ongoing stalemate. The gear itself is well made, the maps copied from only the highest of quality surveys, the TNT bundles packed tight and well to ensure safe and consistent blasts, the electrical generations made with the highest of quality parts and tested regularly for reliability. The men who will receive such gear will also be trained heavily on their new tunneling and demolition tactics.

Quote from: 'Teucer' Rocket Barge
The Teucer is a transport barge that reduces it's human transport capacity and replaces it with rockets. A half dozen modified Ajax launchers sit on the deck. Ammo stores have received extra attention in the form of thicker armor. The Teucer isn't complicated, and only seeks to provide some form of escort and support for barge-related landing forces.

Quote from: Bombsticks
Bombsticks are fragmenting sleeves over TNT cores. The cap of the stick has a safety pin that holds a safety lever in place. Once the pin is removed and the lever released, a mechanism inside the cap strikes the six-second fuse.

Quote from: M1899 Kortrevar-S 'Svaðilfari'
The Svaðilfari removes the bayonet from the Arbetshäst but adds a 6x scope and folding bipod.

Quote from: Improved Rations
Military food sucks. But if it sucked less, perhaps our soldiers would be less miserable, and maybe even occasionally content! Using the latest in preservation techniques, we provide our soldiers with the tastiest tinned meats, vegetables, and fruits! Rations also include tea bags or soluble coffee and some chocolate! Cooking is suggested but not required.

Raketgevär-901-Improved Ammunition
An update to the Raketgevär's Ajax rockets adding a faster burning, smokeless powder to remediate the issue of smoke trails leading to the shooter and rocket blast blinding the user.
Additionally, a new variant of ammunition is created which uses a lighter charge that is safe to use from the trenches and is intended to be used in a short ballistic trajectory up to 500 yards.

I'm voting for the """grenades""" and you should too, because it'd be the cool and attractive thing to do. Also, it'd help across more areas than the rocket barge. Also also, the name of the revision isn't misleading like the Improved Ammunition revision that does more than just revise ammunition. A bipod and a baseplate/exhaust deflector? Those are the most complex components in existence! Also also also, it's not a completely boring sane idea. I'm split between the explodables and sniper rifle though. As everyone who's played video games knows, snipers are the best at taking out machine guns (and more precisely than indirect fire), and that could help get more meat to the enemy trench.  That said, the explodables will help more when the meat actually gets to the enemy trench.

On a serious note of rocketrifle criticism, I'm not sure a baseplate/exhaust deflector combo is gonna be worth doing. It's gonna get in the way of reloading and is a lot of added weight while probably not changing the need to get up over the trench to fire, since the backblast is still going to be contending with the trench unless every bit of energy get directed straight up and out - and then that force is now being entirely exerted on the user as it slams against the deflector, . You might be able to sell it as an additional accessory that allows mortar conversion, but to deal with the issue of backblast we're probably going to need to use a counterweight or make a model that slingshots it out before the engine lights up. I think you'd be better off just focusing on the ammunition.

They are not permanantly attached to the rocket launcher, it's a baseplate that also deflects the exhaust. The bipod is also detachable. Essentially it allows the rocket launcher to be used in a mortar role or the direct fire role, both in and outside of the trench.

Something like this:

Then when you go on the attack or the enemy gets too close you can remove it from the mount and it's back to being the regular Raketgevär-901 with better ammo.

Edit: I've simplified the revision to remove the mortar stand, it's just better ammo now.

The 'Bombsticks', officially filed under the name 'Kracker O1' in Duchy documents, are found to be...somewhat effective by mock testing trials. The TNT core is found to be stable and reliable but the single detonator in the fuse is found to not be able to always detonate the TNT core as well as the fuse sometimes burning longer or shorter than advertised. The fragmentation sleeve on the TNT core is found to be not very effective in producing a large number of fragments and most of the killing power of the grenade comes from the high-explosive blast and thus is only useful in the tight confines of the trenches and fortified positions where the blast can be properly contained for the most effect. The safety lever and pin itself is not included since a working reliable design hasn't been able to be provided on time, as such the Kracker uses a simple friction fuse in which a fuse is inserted inter a metal tube placed on the end of the TNT core with a friction pin at the end. When the pin is pulled it ignites the fuse and starts the countdown.

It is now the Design Phase once the battle report has been posted.

Don't do drugs, kids.

Quote from: 'Hästbita' Rocket Propelled Grenade
The Hästbita is a weapon system meant to be fitted to bayonet lugs on our existing equipment. The Hästbita consists of a cupped metal plate with a long square peg below center and a circular divot above. A handle runs beneath the weapon's stock and contains the lever that triggers the ignition magneto.

The rocket grenades are small finned rockets about 25cm long . A hollow square tube runs through a portion of the rocket to make sure it is fitted properly onto the peg. When fit onto the peg improperly, the rocket will not slide into the cupped plate and will therefore not fire. When slid on correctly, a thick pin in the bottom of the rocket slips into the divot on the plate. This creates contact with the launcher's circuit. When the firing lever is depressed the charge runs through the rocket and sets off a primer that ignites the propellant. There isn't a lot of propellant, just enough for a few seconds of powered flight

A dial near the rear of the rocket is used to set the fuze to Impact, 3, 5, or 10 seconds. The timers start once the rocket ignites.

The warheads on the rockets can contain around 100g of material for rounds of the same sort as the Ajax - High Explosive, Smoke, or Incendiary. We have also included Fragmentation and Flare rounds.

Quote from: 'Loppa' Aerial Platform
The Loppa is an ovoid with a wooden frame covered in canvas with 5mms of steel protecting the more vital parts of the aircraft. A crank-started internal combustion engine provides power to a large rotor shaft running vertically through the center of the aircraft and out the top, where the rotor blades are mounted. A stubby tail has another rotary blade that provides counterforce to the rotation of the main blades in order to keep the aircraft from spinning wildly.

The Loppa is crewed by a Captain/Pilot, Spotter, and Mechanic. The pilot controls the altitude of the aircraft with a series of marked levers that allow smooth, steady increases and decreases in engine power, while a control stick ever so slightly tilts the main rotor to allow for some motion control. The Spotter is given charts, pencils, maps, a photographic camera, and binoculars and observes the battlefield from one of the open sides (with waist-high guard rails). The Mechanic is responsible for fuel, potential emergency repairs, and if the Loppa finds itself close enough, firing the K-900 out of the side of the platform at filthy Confeds.

The Pilot isn't meant to use the controls to actually maneuver a Loppa across a battlefield. Instead, he is just supposed to make sure the Platform goes up safely and comes back down on solid ground. A pair of sled rails run along the bottom of the platform for the Loppa to stand on and to keep it from bottoming out.

While the Loppa isn't necessarily "fuel efficient", enough extra fuel is stored on the platform to give it a few hours of potential airtime.

Or wait, do drugs.

Quote from: 'Soldatkraft' Performance Enhancing Pills
Soldatkraft pills are administered orally, and to be distributed among units as they deploy to the front with instructions to use them before charging across No-Man's Land or when an enemy assault is imminent.

The pills contain an extract derived from the leaves of the coca plant. The stimulant, besides being a stimulant, also provides mild euphoric boosts and a sense of "false braveness". By giving our soldiers performance-enhancing drugs we seek to gain an edge over our enemies.

Quote from: KarbinPistol-903
the KarbinPistol-903 or KP3 for short is as the same suggest a pistol caliber carbine for our soldiers to assault enemy trenches. the KP3 is a semiautomatic carbine chambered for a 9x25mm pistol cartridge. The action is a closed bolt blow-back. the gun is feed from the bottom using detachable 30 rounds double stack box magazines.with a barrel length of 25cm(9.8inches) it has an overall length of 85cm(33inches).

Quote from: M1903 15cm haubits
the M1903 is a 15cm howitzer created as a response to the confed's 120mm gun, the gun carriage has two wooden spoke wheels and hitch to allow the gun to be towed by horse, and is designed to allow for up to 60 degrees of elevation. like our 8cm gun the howitzer has hydro-pneumatic recoil system to deal with it's heavy recoil but unlike our 8cm gun it uses interrupted screw breach block and are loaded with separate shell and powder bags which allows the gun crew to load variable propellant loading for different MV and range. The barrel length is 3m long to ensure that it will have be able to provide long range fire hopefully out ranging it's confed counterpart..
