Having just teleported in, Grey asks:
"Where's Tess going?"

"Well that's a neat thing, anyway I'm gonna see what stuff the corpses have maybe something useful buried under all of them."
Search the pile of ancient corpses for any bits of armour I can wear and any items that are interesting or useful.

The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

"Noted"

Acquire lance. Spend all 3 remaining fate points to do so.
[4,5] Only needed 1 point.

You manage to wrest the Lance out of the mud and corpse fingers with surprising ease. The lance is, in fact, a lance. It ends in a sharp point and everything! Its about 10 feet long and it has very clear murderous intent.  Holding it makes your skin crawl and puts your teeth on edge.

"I wouldn't advise anyone touch that lance. It has powers like our needles, and was built to kill mages and other magical beings, like us. I can't see how it would be the source of the magic, but it still is probably dangerous."

Aaron carefully looks through his needle at the pile of dead, and then at the lance, and attempts to know what caused the death of all these people.

The needle shows...well you look away very quickly before you end up with a bleeding eye like the last guy. Its...unpleasant.

As per what killed these people...not people... These were killed by that thing over there. The thing you have to kill.

"Well that's a neat thing, anyway I'm gonna see what stuff the corpses have maybe something useful buried under all of them."

Most of the armor the corpses are wearing has...disconcerting holes punched in it. Holes through the vaulted helmets, holes in the silvered chest pieces, and holes punched through the bones beneath. You search through the pile and eventually find a chest piece and helmet that aren't perforated.  They're a bit tight, but they fit.

We'll assume you're around the crater.

Hugh is the only one who can really keep up with the glove over the next hour or so of running through the woods. It shows no sign of slowing or stopping.

"Well, this sharp, murderlance is sharp and murderous. And ten feet long. And similar to our very potent Needles."

"And Tess said there are many of these depressions around, similar to this one we found this lake filled with murdered corpses and this lance in."

"Genesis, be careful with that thing! I briefly looked through my needle toward the hole, and it is nasty. I only looked briefly, to avoid ending up like Grey. All of the dead here were killed by what we are here to fight."

Aaron looks through his needle at Debby's new armor, and at Genesis in general. If everything looks normal, he goes and pokes at the pile of armor with his needle. He also stays well clear of Genesis's reach.
