((An update appears from out of the deep!~))The chefs soon begin calling for reinforcements.
With recon objectives accomplished and the ship in rough condition, it seems like a good idea to the crew to withdraw the ship.
Captain Hardclaw: "Let's get the hell out of here!"
The ship begins heading back, but not before letting Micky the car off at the Gleam Dream Wax tower.
Micky: "Marvelous! I will take this opportunity to delve into the secrets of the Gleam Dream Wax Company and work to uncover its historical intricacies. Thank you strange clawed friends; take this as a token of my appreciation. May we meet again some day!"
[Cargo item received: Spare Tire] The crew then thanks all ant allies for apt and alliterative assistance.
Ant Commander: "Another age, another altercation against atrocious apes abusing ambitious appetites. Adieu, armored alien associates," the ant leader atop the ascended architecture answers.
The red star pulses, and the blood pours from the chefs, but the arthropods aren’t affected. Some of the chefs hurry inside, away from the red light; those that make it stop bleeding. The reinforcements are warned of the time and thus remain in shadow so the star may not take their blood away.
Dr. Prawning: "Interesting, the chefs are bleeding due to the red star pulsations. That must mean... their blood contains hemoglobin, not hemolymph! Perhaps we could take advantage of this knowledge during our next encounter with them..."
Some of the chefs that are exposed to the light explode into a bloody mist.
Those that inhale the resulting mist have their bleeding accelerated.
Chef Boyar2d2 seems enraged but not hurt by the red light.
Chef Boyar2d2: "We will win this war eventually, you chitinous horrors!"
He presses a button on his suit and a set of giant crab forks are launched from nearby to try and pierce the ship. In the ensuing confusion he leads the remaining chefs to safety.
The forks are intercepted by the ship’s automated cheese-based Sea-Whiz(r) system before they can harm the ship.
Captain Hardclaw: "Damn, I love cheese."
As the ship begins its flight back home towards the ocean, the crew notices a massive deposit of buttery cheesy bread in the vicinity.
Steppy: "Buttery cheesy bread!"
Captain Hardclaw: "Poseidon's buttery beard! Look at all that cheese!"
Shelly: "That's a buttery cheesy bonanza!"
Dr. Prawning: "Oh my, there's so much... how could we possibly transport it all back?"
Curiously, a cat bumps into a thread...
Mysterious voice: "You know what they say: Good things come to those who wait, we must be patient."
Mysterious voice 2: "They do? How patient do I have to be?"
Mysterious voice: "At least a little, or maybe more."
Steppy: "Umm... did anyone else hear that?"
Shelly: "Hear what?"
Steppy: "Uh... n-never mind..."
Rear plating: Heavy damage
Engine B: Light damage
Thruster B: Light damage
Giant wasp [contained in lab]
Small piece of buttery cheesy bread [stored in lab]
Spare tire [stored in cargo hold]
