The Red robot zaps Pink with its Tesla Gun! The two prongs of the gun begin to heat up before shooting a blindingly-bright lightning bolt forwards. The bulletproof smartglass border walls of the arena darken for a split second to protect the audience's eyes from the flash. The lightning bolt did 8 damage! Pink now can't use any items for 3 turns.

It wasn't behind a wall. Think of line-of-sight as a straight line that can curve at a constant pace. Red's line was just curved enough to move one space diagonally when it was about to pass the wall. It's hard to explain without an image. Think of it as a chess knight's move except longer (9;1) and it can't jump over anything.

Imagine if you weren't there but Red shot at the same trajectory. The line couldn't curve again behind the wall but it would move *another* space diagonally after another 9 squares.

You can't shoot Teal from your current position because the line would have to curve in different directions and inconsistently.

You normally can but you're under the Tesla Gun's effect-- which I'll nerf to 2 turns so you're not stunlocked for as long-- so you can't for another 2 turns. So you should run.

Doesn't that only apply to items, not all weapons and armor? If not, that tesla gun is a death sentence beyond all others when it said it only prevented item use.
