I struck out the answer to the question not directed at us, what do you all think about the non action part?

It's quite possible, or it could just be a corruption of "seedship," which is the name of this type of machine.

Yeah, I'd assumed was just a contraction of "seedship"-- which is to say, a ship designed to seed a colony. Seems there was some kind of mass exodus of humanity from Earth to the stars, however many millennia ago.

You give me too much credit, Naturegirl. *sigh* But you're only partially correct, about what SEEDship is.

You do note that McFee has a similar forge, sans electric ore refinery. But you could, if you so chose to, requisition any bar of metal from SEED stockpiles with but a signature. You have a blanket requisition for any odds and ends you might need for training, up to a certain point.

You could, with a bit more hassle, literally demand a large amount of any material to found factories or something, if it so chose your fancy...but you haven't attempted it, content to let the SEED war machine do its part. But maybe that will change with this piece of technology in your hand.

"Of-of course. I have the other piece in storage-- for theft protection, Holy Alphira." The shopkeeper rises, stumbling over himself to bring you the other [radio communicator]. He sets it gingerly in your hand. "The Outlander clans, those heretics, quite prefer them as well! They use it to communicate ambushes and other nefarious deals. I only hope your will shines upon them." He begins to babble half-remembered prayers that you know from your brief time studying religion, that they are pretty badly translated.

"Are we done here, darling?" Emma asks, idly, straightening up-- once again, while you were talking, she was playing with Mitch. You notice that she is using her handkerchief to stop a bit of bleeding on her finger.

Yes, mass production of this technology would go a long way towards improving the war effort.

"Yes.  Thank you for your cooperation, sir.  There's no need to be afraid, as I will keep this between us only."

+1 why not own a forge? It can’t hurt, and we have the money For it. Why not buy the forge then leave?

I don't have a problem with it, as long as we can bring down the price a little.

We've the power to move industries, tho. We wield this civilization. It won't hurt us or anything to buy the thing, but... will we use it? Ever?

Let's go poke about for market food, then see if there's anything Emma wouldn't would be interested in purchasing here-- we'd be paying, of course!
After that, we're probably good to meet up with William.

I'd like to take a look at the guns and spices as well.

wouldn’t it make more sense to purchase thing Emma would like, rather than things she wouldn’t like?

I think it's an expression, like "wouldn't you rather have $100 than $50?"

Is an expression. Strange expression, now I think of it.

I’ve heard that expression, but the way it is worded makes it sound like we are searching for things she wouldn’t like

I giggled at that. I'm not sorry.

After a brief bit of arguing internally, you step out of the tent. As an aside, to Emma, you murmur, "Order me a forge-- set it up in one of the compound's rooms. A better one than that? Please?"

Emma looks confused but gives a nod. "I'll have it set up. McFee can help me pick out good tools."

"Thanks, Emma."

We might as well take a look at the guns.  This isn't using up any time I think.
