Such madness can only happen once and never recreated!

Spriggans, out of curiousity, how many save scums did it usually take to res a ghoul instead of a zombie?

On average. I would say 4 or 5 resets max.
If I did not get it after 5, I'd call it a day.
Most of the times, I'd get ghouls on the first 3 attempts.

What I realized was that even with 10 corpses, the necromancer REZ either 10 ghouls or 10 zombies. So it's not a 50-50 per corpse.
(Otherwize, having 10 ghouls at once would be impossible odds..., say,  1/2 to the power 10. So impossible).

Thanksfully, the necro chooses to rise ghouls at, I would say 50% chance.

8 month save acquired, I'll give it my best shot to replicate it

Journal of the Tavern Keeper 1st of Hematite 182

Some days I wonder why we bother having elections in smallhands. Mayor Lorbam Roadyawn is exactly the sort of person you don't want as mayor and not for multiple terms! She dreams of attaining rank in society and loves guile and trickery. She also finds leisure time wasteful and sacrifice to be wasteful and foolish.
The sort of person, were she to become a noble, would be like the ones that were responsible for the mess at cactushexes, not letting the soldiers rest and sending them out into suicidal battles while the upper class fled.

I am certain she keeps mandating large gems so she can bribe dwarves into electing her.

In other news, Overseer Snaggrips, I think that's how you spell it (The handwriting was cursive in the extreme), sought my permission at the beginning of the year to use the resurrection chamber for !!science!! to see if the strength of an undead was correlated to the time of death. He further explained that if there was a connection, then it would be best if it was learned before attempting to kill the head servant of the god of thralldom in case Weevil himself revives Ikud to fight us again.

I begrudgingly conceded that would need to be looked into and told him if mayor Lorbam ends up having an unfortunate accident, then he has my approval to take her corpse for a control element!

The first results have come in and so far the osprey corpses havent done much and the werepig curse still changes undead. Luckily Snaggrips had the foresight to install additional cages before Kol's torture chamber.

Time for a drink
Spilt strawberry wine lines the page
----------------------

I thought that booze tasted off, so that's where my other test batch of coma inducing wine went. Must have mixed up the bottles at some point with the regular Tall Bar batch.
Here I am once more in time's river as a disembodied soul. I got a bit of time before my liver kicks in and I return to my body unconcious for a nap.

By Armok I look a right mess when I pass out on the bar top. I wonder whose going to wake me in the near future... oh no, its the overseer himself.
Wait...Snaggrips why are you leaving me? You arse! I'll double your tab for this!

Hang on...
A break in to the catacombs?
troglobyte ghouls?
Oh I killed Pelese, I had forgotten it was down there.
and...a massive siege
followed by oh wow i made quite a mess of those goblins

Recon lets loose a roaring laughter into the void as her liver starts working and drags her back to her body

Journal of the Tavern Keeper 2nd of Hematite 182

Damn it. I went down to the catacombs and started moving coffins to hiding places starting with Kingzultan's (she was supposed to be in the hall of legends!) and locked the doors to try and prevent the intrusion.
Much to my frustration the intruders had simply removed the doors instead of finding the keys! that didn't buy me anywhere near as much time as I hoped and I had to flee less I get discovered. Among the enthralled and turncoats were other military members, and as good as I am, I could not hope to fight that many of Smallhand's finest.

True to time's weave multiple coffins had been broken into for parts and the resurrection chamber showed signs of fresh use this morning. Thank goodness I spared some of the dead from that terrible fate.

Much to my frustration I did not discover the perpetrator of these deeds. Nonetheless I must move carefully to avoid being silenced. I am just the Tavern Keeper at this point in time. I know not whether Snaggirps is behind this or if he's just a puppet.

I have to assume recon will drink some tainted brew and be able to replicate the mind-state of a mad necromancer.

I updated the first post and now we've reached the point that I have to start making efficiencies because we've gone over the character cap! Probably from all the URLs! We did it!

I wonder if some dwarves wish they'd die like that?

No rush, recon. Your updates are always a pleasure to read. Definitely worth the wait.
