Novoting on Consequences Polished because I'm still irrationally disapproving of the word "must", and I don't quite get the rationale for taking the third highest punishment.
Tsss, I agree. We'll need to look at that. I think we can count it as bookkeeping, because it wouldn't change how the rule works in any real world scenario. But words like "must" should be applied better.
BETA RULES
Giving notice to Liberonscien and those that supported Beta/Alpha rules, I am going to expect us to drop or use these at some point.
35.
We are at 35 rules, and I'd like to set a goal of being no higher than that by next Wednesday. Meaning the amount of new rules and rule mergers cancel each other out. I will be trading 2 points to everyone if we succeed.
Novoting on Global Settings because I don't really care.
I guess we should decide if we want every globe(world) to be in the same universe, or take place in different dimensions. Some pros:
Different Planets in same Space
I really like the idea of grabbing a personal spaceship and hoping around.
Different Dimensions of same Planet
Can be portals and other quirky ways of travel.
When it comes moving between worlds why don't we just hail a cab, ride the bus, or something?
I thought they were on different planets. They might not be, maybe the Colloseum could be where the Elite Four was. I thought they were on different planets hence the statues
I'm thinking my world will be urban fantasy/sci-fi. Magic exists and it has rules that a scientist could determine meaning an engineer could use said magic to make magic tech.
I'm also thinking that it would resemble our world, so to speak, e.g. hand held magic mirrors with demons bound to them that serve the magic mirror's owner, I.e smart phones,
I think that each Citizen's primary character must have a home world that said character lives on.
On the discussion of Planets vs Dimensions, here is the collection of notes that could hint at where people stand.
I think the only one who has a clear desire is perhaps King Zultan, who might like them to be different "cities" on the same planet.
There is also the option to leave things ambiguous.
Personally, what ever we do, I feel we should give each Global Director total imaginative control over their world. These RTD threads might survive without Pure Nomic, might even outlast it. So they should not be limited in creative ways that would stifle that possibility. Also the more independent they are, the more a player can play these games outside of the scope of Pure Nomic, and welcoming more kinds of players can lead to those that eventually DO join us.
In terms of not inhibiting a Global Directors creativity about their world, I have made a list from most free to least as I see it.
1. Ambiguous: Do not explain how the worlds are connected.
2. Dimensions: Different Dimensions on the Same Planet.
3. Planets: Different Planets in the same Space.
4. Regions: Different Regions on the same World Map.
