See if we can project some amount of corruption onto them without making contact ourselves, to exhaust the protection before looking in.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

It is likely they have faith in something divine protecting them.  We may need to tempt them directly or break their faith before we can corrupt them.  Similar to the shamans earlier who were able to resist us.

Let's start on the hating champion first. Try to channel his anger  to go against his own people, first.

The Thing is that we are meddling with Powers that we dont seem to understand fully yet. If we piss them Off enough they might come at ist with a giant army. Lets act diplomatically learning more and only corrupting a few unprotected merchants.

Right now we are a Battle demon but I Feeling to be a Demon General we must practice Our other skills AS Well.

Edit: Let us Focus on Bildung that Arena. If we infuse IT magically we can probably corrupt watchers AS Well AS winning fighters AS Well.

Furthering the seeds we already have would allow us to oppose the people of the Scales without directly fighting them.   Fostering  internal strife will draw them further into our grasp.  As for preparing for a fight, have we forgotten about the agreement  we made with the Crystals? Slaves for copper. We should be laying out the welcome mat for them.

+1 to all this. And let’s make sure there’s copper ready.

You attempt to send a pulse of anger to the warrior who escorted the Crystal Speaker, but even though you can sense the rage you planted in him, it feels like there is a thick layer of glass between you and him. You do your best to push through, but you are unsure of how much successfully gets through.

Then you return to the Bastion, impressed by the progress which is currently being made on the arena. A vast section of ground has been cleared, and a wall built thick around an inner circle. You inform your followers of the arriving delegation, and as much copper as possible is dug up, and forged into axes and blades and instruments of savage war. They are stacked in a pile in the center of the bastion, and it grows by the day as the delegation marches closer.

As they arrive, you sit on your throne beyond the copper. There are twenty men and women, wielding blades of crystal, surrounding forty others with their limbs bound together, making them shamble awkwardly. The leader of this band glances disdainfully at you, and then his warriors shove the slaves over to you, and begin piling up copper, placing it in large sacks. They then turn to depart, apparently having no wish to stay here.

Hmn...
Graciously invite them to stay for a feast, to mark this momentous occasion of our first formal exchange.
Let the evil of the lands around us soak into them as they eat.

Damnit people, this is why I said to keep the truce. Because now everyone's ganging up on the cats.
Also, don't forget to contact your local Eldritch Being(s), so that they can help with our mission to destroy the universe.
