{GM wonders how that direction happens}

You decided to head north across the desert sands.

Needless to say, now that you can sense Ether, you note another scorpion beneath the sand.

Continue or stop?

Gaal'garot didn't get much blood the last time he encountered one of these things. He would try quickly stomping the ground then moving silently to see if the scorpion would respond to that.

If it didn't, he would continue onwards instead of wasting too much time on this.

You shift the sands.

Deadly Needle

Missed. It emerges from the sands to try and eat you.

This time, Gaal'garot knew a bit more about the scorpion, and what it could do. After emerging, there was a brief period where its tail could be surprised and placed into a position where it couldn't react effectively. At least, that was the theory.

To do this, Gaal'garot would use one hand to grab the tail just a bit beneath the stinger, and the other hand to grab it at the start of the tail. With both of these spots grabbed simultaneously, the scorpion wouldn't be able to move it enough to strike. From there, he would flip it upside down so that its feet were facing upwards and away from the sand, and he would stomp on the limbs connected to the scorpion's claws using his feet without letting go of the tail. This position would leave it unable to get the momentum for a claw hammer, unable to position a deadly needle, unable to swing its tail for its draining attack, and unable to dig itself underground.

Gaal'garot would pay close attention to what the scorpion would do to defend itself, to see if he could detect some clues in its ether that previously avoided his notice.

Hammer Claw
It swings its right claw toward you. You dodge it and make use of your stature to grip its tail-base and stinger-base before using your unholy might to flip it. You the slam your feet down on it's claw arms.

The scorpion struggles uselessly.

Gaal'garot figures that this maneuver will be effective on other scorpions out in the desert. Of course, he isn't quite done yet. This standing pose also leaves his head close to the tail. He already knew that he would be able to bite through the scorpion's armor from prior experience. It was time to do it again.

Nightmarish Fangs.

You bite in and gently rip apart the thin plates, then drink.

The Scorpion continues to struggle. You begin to feel the Ether Flow around it change.

Gaal'garot continues to drink until it proves to be difficult to continue. The test was now about the effects of physical trauma on the ether of living things.

The Ether coming from the scorpion changed. Bands of red light burst out from it.

The enemy's element is now Fire!

The blood burns you as it goes down and you immediately witg draw your fangs.

?? Prevented Damage from the Fire Ether eaten. Fire Ether Nullified in body.

Action?

Over and over again it became more apparent that Gaal'garot did not understand how Ether worked. The scorpion appeared to be capable of changing its element, and possibly even detecting which element would be ideal.

Gaal'garot decides to just sort of... Throw this one away now. Tossing it behind him with a backflip maneuver and then running. It was unlikely that the scorpion would be able to keep up.

It seemed likely that the unknown ether was in fact, water ether... But again, there was so much that Gaal'garot didn't know about ether. For all he knew it could be some mysterious ninth kind of ether or something.

Once you move far enough away from it, it sinks beneath the sands to recover.

Blood Devilry-
You can now Transform into a Scorpion for 6 hours. You also now know how to form Deadly Needle in that form.

Other Knowledge-
Bunnits! They sleep underground in small hollow tunnels. Easily collapse-able, it could usually collect a few each day.
Scorpion Patterns, they have a habit of sleeping during the night before hunting during the early day. They use the heat of the sun and Earth Ether to harden their shells.
Aspers, Those snakes often end up fighting the scorpions. They do not like each other.

Attunement- All creatures are capable of instinctively shifting their ether flow to better resist and combat their predator's Ether attacks/flow. This does not however remove weaknesses, or allow them to use new skills.{Barring Unique Circumstances}
As it's instinctive, it is not a skill you can gain. Absorbing Ether will change your alignment for as long as said Ether remains. You currently have Earth Ether built up from the Scorpion Blood.

And now apparently it is possible for animals to spontaneously change their ether type. The implication of what he learned is that animals that are attacked will almost certainly switch to fire ether upon being sufficiently antagonized... But they might adapt the wrong way if Gaal'garot's stored ether was of an element that fire is not effective against.

The next time he encountered a scorpion, he would definitely consider testing that theory. Especially since the scorpions wouldn't actually have a fire attack.

For now, he continues to head north.

The edge of the mountain range is just ahead. It continues it's slope slightly Northwest, and slopes to the right and eventually Southeast.

In addition, your eyes spot one of those snakes to your northwest. It appears to be heading West.

Gaal'garot considers the snake. Is it even slightly possible that... It is the same kind of snake that he encountered when he first entered the world?

If so... He decided that he should leave it alone. He would prefer it if a creature he fought tonight didn't return to the home of the blades.

You arrive at the mountain area. Rocky grey plains leading up to cliffs and paths. You also see quite a few animals in some sort of Pen area, with a water source nearby.
