Gaal'garot knew that a grappling attack would be ineffective. He would disregard the poison fog attack and move in to start punching the creature, slamming it from what appeared to be the general vicinity of its head with his fist to slam it against the ground.

Eyyaa*

You slam it's head into the ground multiple times.

Shimmer

It disappeared from in front of you. You can smell it's blood though. It's trying to flee.

Gaal'garot first determines if it actually moved from underneath the rock. If it didn't, then being invisible wouldn't help it much.

If it did however, he would need to do something about it. Fortunately, this time he had a good rock at the ready. He would lift that up and hurl it at the creature full force, and be prepared to jump at it right after. His observations suggested that this creature was more suited to graceful movements than intense aerial dodging so if it evades the rock it should be vulnerable to another strike if its fast enough.

You throw the rock. It misses as the creature dips. Of course, you're right on it and slam it down on the other wing.

It seems to pass straight through though. Your follow up attack however, doesn't miss. You slam it into the ground.

Closer inspection reveals that the creature had what appeared to be a "phase shift" ability. The utility that Gaal'garot could potentially find for such a skill was beyond measure. After he landed, he would go straight to the bloodied part of the creature with his fangs. He wouldn't even try to grab hold of it first, just bite. The optimal solution was to start getting a bit of blood immediately when he made contact instead of giving it the hint that it should try to go intangible again.

Nightmarish Fangs,

You bite into the bloody wing and drain what you can. It's not much, given how thin it is, but it's a start.

Zzp-zap*
It sends a charge straight into you, and you spasm, tearing a hole into it. It immediately tries to move away, curving up to face you.

You've got a bit. Anything you want from it?

For data collection, Gaal'garot puts social behaviors as his top priority, and physical vulnerabilities as the second highest. He wants to know if he would be able to get a third one to come out of the cave just as easily, and regardless of the answer to that, he wants to know the "Correct" way to get blood out of them.

Blood Memory
Hunting Habit- They track their pray through sound, and eat bats usually.
Blood Flow- Their blood is spread out across their entire body.  The base of their tail, and right beneath their head module is the best place, or failing that, anywhere along/below their spine.
Put simply, getting alot of blood out of them requires you to kill them. Or a spear. That jagged rock is a useful weapon for killing them.
Once dead, it would be easy to drink, but at the moment, it is vibrating to throw you off, and it's skin is slick and tough. Thick in the important parts too.

Gaal'garot expected the creature to use its "Shimmer" ability soon to get away. Instead of trying to bite again, he would use this time to compose himself and get a bead on the rock's location. It would be trivially easy to hear it on impact and it would probably still be mostly in one piece; or at least large enough to still do damage.

His plan was to lurk near the cave entrance to encourage it to retreat to someplace else. He would let it get some distance and later track it with its blood; trying to sneak up on it. He would then use a sonic screetch to try to lure it to an ideal spot, then attempt to crush its midsection with a boulder.

The plan seemed solid. Gaal'garot's plans rarely seemed to go quite how he intends, but it certainly seemed solid.

You move toward where the rock landed.

It appears to have moved up a bit.

Poison Fog

Fog descends on your location.

Gaal'garot decides to wait where he is, then put his plan into action. The poison fog would only make his non-immediate pursuit seem less suspicious...

Alternatively, Gaal'garot could take the more direct route. He picked up the rock, and hurled it towards the creature at full force, with a trajectory moving directly through the incoming electric attack.

You.. Try to strike all the bolts and hit it.

You manage to take out most of them, but it just does a little flip and strikes the rock down with it's tail.

Still 2 coming in.
