Meet up with Cio and help with the evacuation! With my knowledge of Dagon Magic, I might be able to find hiding places for people which are slightly less desirable for whatever horrors are coming. And with the guard, there might be some sort of organization.

And probably reply to the letter wizard. It might be nice if someone did, before reality is subsumed.

As mentioned in the previous turn, the most exciting field of battle this year will be in the Arstotzkan capitol, with plenty of close-quarter fighting and siege warfare.  Arstotzka, accordingly, spent their design phase developing a high-altitude tactical bomber.

The fact rebuilding his volunteer took so many days was a sure sign peasants weren't exactly prime teaching material, but the fact he'd still managed to help his crocodilian pupil rebuild himself was a confirmation of his teaching skills. He was about to teach the other high priests about the wonders of polymorphing when he received Cio's message. What now?

Quote from: Nallihen, Grand Black Dragon of Doom, to Cio
The tower burning down was expected, it was bound to happen again sooner or later. We can rebuild anyway.

I would like more details on the doom, however. What do you mean by it?

Since it seemed his work was being threatened by unspecified Doom, Nallihen decided his pupil had been taught enough and enlisted his ssistance in enlightening the others.

With the suicidal crocodilian volunteer's assistance, teach the High Priests some polymorphing.

…So, sorry for being on hiatus, everybody except Enoch. I either came back at the the best time to save the princess’s humanity, or the soul-crushingly worst time beyond the Dagon Event Horizon. So I guess it’s a win-win. Should I even try to worm my way back in to the game, or should Archeux just die in the tower-fire?

…screw it. Remember that “Best Idea”? The sealing guy from across the veil of existance? Archeux tries to contact him and let him in to our reality and seal the princess away. Things won’t get better from this. Either he fails, or reality returns to normal and we’ll all executed by the King for what we did to her. Except for that brain lice lady that fled to the other side of the world, maybe. Even worse, I could've misread that skin-bound tome I heard about him in and given the princess some king of impossible geometries to marry.

Work on a potential forum game for my return to Bay12. Figure out parts that puzzled me before. Find more things to figure out that I can't. Work on another game instead of solving them. Get distracted and stop working. Remember it a week or two later. Remember I'm still on hiatus. Illogically, Be too ashamed to return yet. Repeat ad nauseam.

Finally have a game completely ready. Wait a week before posting it out of laziness.

Turn 13: Hope

((I only mentioned a few people because Archeaux/OceanSoul seems inactive the past weeks, so IC, Cio has no idea about them))

Do that illusion warning again, but this time direct people in an evacuation--alongside writing a STRONGLY WORDED LETTER TO THE COUNCIL for the stupidity of allowing exotic mages as 'TUTORS' to a scion of the throne.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: To Nallihen (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: To Mordred (click to show/hide)

Write messages to the council and other original mages; we are evacuating, that is the theme of my actions this WEEK.

If I ever meet Sally on the way, do a bit of casual conversation in meeting a child for some reason, then evacuate her with self.

Illusion+Dreamscape to guide and warn the populace to nearby safer zones. If I can utilize illusion to peer through the surrounding areas for a better tower or place where we can find refuge, please make my way there alongside any other pertinent people (like the mages mentioned, Sally whom I probably don't know much of, and other folks)

If I can use my wind magic to help transport everything or at least important things in the evacuation, please do so, mostly as flavor text because why can't I IN A WEEK OF ACTIONS but only restrained by the game mechanics for 'practicality' which somehow weakens the utility mages and bolsters those who just do one thing like exotically mess up people -_- Also using my Consoling to make one final message to the Princess of nice things and not killing people and not going along the abusive timeline due to stoopid exotic mages but augh.

Now if only the guild floorplan had fire or red-square with lined matrix warning zones... :P
[4] You manage to persuade people to flee, though they remain insistent on hiding inside inns, under wagons, and so forth while doing so. The next problem becomes where to put them; the capital is the most obviously threatened area, but you're not sure the surrounding towns can support that many people, nor are you terribly sure those are safe either.

You hope your messages get to their recipients alright.

Almost there. Enoch would probably say something if he had a mouth to talk with.
Teach the Empress how to summon Father Dagon himself and finish her training.
[1] You try to complete the princess' training, to show her how to summon Father Dagon himself.

She simply turns to you, insofar as such a thing can or must move, and you realize she has already surpassed you. Eclipsed you.

And that Father Dagon is right beneath you already.

What passes next can be comprehended only loosely by mortal minds, and even then only by those with the spark of madness to understand. What most would say is that you are destroyed by Dagon's power- a crude and grasping fable to explain your warped, echoing screams and then discontinued presence.

Enoch, beloved member of the Tower has vanished without a trace!

Sing a soothing mushroom song to the princess.
[4] It doesn't work, at first. You sing, the princess shifts and grows, and prepares to... sing.

But little by little, she starts to soften, to reconsider, to hesitate. Soon she is more at peace with her form than you would have expected, a nascent god floating peacefully in the void.

[1] Using your knowledge of Dagon Magic, you lure several waves of refugees into The Glittering Grotto, a rather shiny cavern said to be a sanctuary of an ancient order that once battled supernatural horrors such as Dagon.

This makes it somewhat puzzling when the walls start shifting like iridescent oil and whispers fill the air.

"IT HAS BEEN SEEN. Thusly it shall occur."

Teach the Princess how to polymorph water into worms. It is fated.
[1] She picks up quickly, or something goes wrong with your spell, or maybe trying to teach a godling tends to go poorly. Whatever the case, you start melting into worms.

You also catch on fire, because the tower is fire now.

MEEEEEELLLLLTIIIIIIIING!
!!On Fire!!

Get out of the now burning tower and go into the forest, its time to learn alchemy skyrim style, by eating the ingrediants
[4] You run out of the tower and begin cramming multicolored flower petals and butterfly wings into your mouth. You learn the blue-white ones would make fantastic poison.

[2] The crocodile keeps trying to execute them for incompetence, which hampers your progress all around. You get some interesting philosophical debates on the nature of leadership and weakness, though.

[3] It's a little hard with the tower on fire, but then the best rituals are often conducted against a backdrop of flame.

The results are a little anticlimactic- a torso just sort of slips out of reality, then gets stuck.

"GAH!" it shrieks, trying to wrench itself free. "It is I, Azurog the Eraser, returned from one thousand years of torment!"

You explain that you really need his help banishing the princess, hence doing that instead of leaving a burning building.

"Foolish fool! You've only half-freed me! I MUST HAVE MORE!"

You ask if he's got a week, these rituals are real time-burners.

"Foolish fool! According to the prophecy my foe was to be The Silver One, a penguin pure of heart and brilliant of power!"

You're not entirely sure how to proceed from a half-unbanished banisher ranting about battling a penguin.

"Ia Ia! Sally fhtagn!"
[6] Several ninjas descend silently, arranging themselves in concentric rings around Sally, who's really just ecstatic about this whole burning the tower thing. Maybe you guys are alright after all, you know?

Anyway the roars that echo from Sally's general location soon after are refreshingly... attuned to this layer of reality? They don't have that weird echoing warbly quality to them, like you're hearing reality being bent or something. Just a large, angry fire demon challenging any nearby for dominance.

Sally: Immolated Firelord->Fire God

Quote from: Sally
MINE!
[5] The tower explodes.

It doesn't stop existing once it's done exploding, though. It just erupts in a giant blaze of fire as something is slammed out of it. That something is the princess' unconscious corporeal body, which hits the ground hard, bounces a lot... and then gently floats into the air, apparently undamaged, as a writhing in the air outlines a frame matching Sally's in size and monstrousness.

Quote from: Princess
NO U
[1] The princess melts.

Her body doesn't melt, just her... writhing air-stuff. There's a horrible screaming from it, too, and things around it start to wither and then perk up with a garish, unnaturally colored vibrance. Perhaps the princess isn't used to operating in the waking world.

Quote from: Council
Lie down, try not to scream, scream a lot
[4] The council, having sent a man to check on the worrying news they received last week, responds about as well as could be expected, ordering an evacuation of anyone who Cio and Mordred haven't gotten out already.

They also scream a lot, both at each other, at the abstract concept of mages, and just in general because AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
