We don't know that they're not using the same word for two different definitions.

Legalese is practically another language entirely. Okay, not really, but the point is that legalese can be interpreted broadly or narrowly depending on how it's constructed or defined *cue every Bay12er with law backgrounds probably groaning and going 'that's not how it works!', and this guy takes the law as it's written uber-seriously..... see where I'm going with this?

Though seriously, Abbadon expects us readers to interpret it as 'wounding Solomon in a way that he bleeds, however slight the wound is'.

While this is true, between "my body is the state and the whole of the law" and "this is my will", I suspect he takes the law as written seriously only because he wrote it, which opens the possibility that he may simply elect to rewrite it at will. Paragon of benevolent autocracy though he may be, he's almost certainly more fallible than he likes to believe; he does, after all, represent Pride.

So far, Solomon David has by far the nicest place to live. Perhaps this indicates he's the most human and mortal, or something.

Abbadon has said that citizens of Solomon's empire live pretty well, if constantly being grazed at the back of the neck by the sword of law.

Things may look nice on the surface, but we don't know how dystopian things are underneath.

Idealists may not like this, but you can tolerate a lot of political dystopia if your day to day life is pleasant.

I'm pretty sure that no matter where you live, the idea is that being ruled over by someone so ridiculously powerful tend to have awful consequences to your life and freedom.

looks orderly but it's likely a uber oppressive police state. not to say that it's worse than other hell pits, but working for the old grumpy lizard counting moneys likely wasn't that bad, beyone the red color scheme of the palace.

Isn't it Mottom that had the red color scheme to her palace?

I don't remember what Abbadon said the condition of Mammon's worlds were like, other than heavily mercantile as would be expected.

I mean it's just a fictional world but I feel the urge to start pamphleting and rallying young idealistic morons (read: anarchists like myself) to a big self destructive orgy of kingslaying already.

The King already died in the first chapter.

That's probably by design, you know. "Harsh but fair" tyranny generally exists because someone really wants a way to be harsh to people and be lauded as fair for doing so.

Or because someone sees how the world can be fair, but it requires him to be harsh.

Though, whatever the original intent, "power corrupts..."

New comic up, and apparently the system has two suns because Solomon somehow (through magic? Ultra-advanced technology? What/Whoever is powerful enough to destroy a star likely has the ability to create one) put them there.

Also, for a world with two suns, there is no indication in the shadows that there are two sources of light. So, Abbadon needs to brush up on 'shadows created from multiple light sources', unless it's a reignited Sun and an ignited Jupiter type deal.

Apparently there is little to no night, so maybe there are never two suns in the sky at once (assuming no axial tilt).

Abbadon sure is into halberds lately.

Zaid is a character now! When he has to fight in that arena for whatever reason I'll wager 400 quatloos on his opponent
