I vibe I got from "you already know my will in this matter" was that he already has a successor in mind. And it's probably someone we already know, because of conservation of narrative.
I predict that he wants to put Zaid in charge of his kingdom.

All the demiurges at the confluence in book 1 seemed to be taking Zaid seriously. Solomon might have a really good poker face or could have changed his mind, but barring other evidence I'm assuming he thinks of Zaid as the chosen successor.

How did he end up going to Mammon's vault though, where he then got sold to slave traders? That doesn't exactly scream 'being taken seriously'. Maybe 'seriously' in the sense of 'getting him out of the way', but I'm pretty sure 'hero gets sent off elsewhere/sold to slavery and the villian thinks theyre gone for good, but the hero survives and returns' is common enough that it's a trope.

New one up: https://killsixbilliondemons.com/comic/king-of-swords-1-3/

A bit of family drama there, and I wonder how often that tournament is held? Given that 25 generations of his sons passed, that's over 2,000 years, so, I'd imagine he'd tire of doing it every year after the first century or two, maybe it's every decade? 50 years? Century?

Huh. The last page looked like it was going to switch to another scene. This is interesting though.
I think that Solomon might enjoy doing the tournament every single year. He certainly seems to like being smug and untouchable, and I can only imagine that the tournament involves a whole lot of dodging shit and maybe splattering folks. It's therapeutic. :P

I suppose it could also be a way to keep his combat skills from becoming rusty. Though I suppose it'd have also grown to become a cultural phenomenon after a while, like gladiator battles in Rome or something.

Hah! And when Allison draws his blood or is deemed worthy by Solomon himself, she shall inherit.

I don't know...that seems a little too obvious.

She's being taught martial arts though, not a weapon skill, and he said 'draw one drop of blood' which implies some sort of edged weapon. Unless causing a nosebleed counts?

Use of weapons is a martial art. :p
Also, angel-style unarmed martial arts is totally capable of drawing blood. Remember that one time that White Chain punched some guy's torso into paste?

I know any use of weapons is called a martial art, I was separating the hand/foot definition from wielding a weapon.

Clearly Allison will just sketch out a drop of Solomon's blood and the guy would be forced to honor the deal.

Depends on how literally he's willing to take it since he's supposed to be obsessed with the law and enforcing it.

They're not actually speaking English, if you'll recall. So sadly, puns are devoid of validity here.
