In my mind Jaro is a leading city (a bustling river-meets-sea port if we can swing it). If we start with more than one center (distinct political, military, or spiritual capitals as well) then 'Jaronia' might be a regional/national appellation. I nominate 'Jarons' for the people thereof.

Glory to Republic of Jaro!

A populous land, known for its tolerance. Religions and cultures live together in delicate harmoney, while humans, elves wooden and black, dwarves and murkers all have the ability to thrive, trade and have a say in the republican politics.

Most of the riches come from the large salt flats in the Rogayan Rockplate, a sparsely inhabited and waterless land in the north. The salt is currently being shipped by the Black Sea to Anataya Shotanate, a theocracy of black elves. Other client for Jaroan salt are the dwarves; their citadel of Shorastdang in the eastern mountains sending it over to other dwarven homes.

The other source of income is the fact that the Republic is the transit point for many trade routes; dwarven halls, elven towns and nearby human minor kingdoms all pay the customs' tax to the Republican treasury, amounting for some profits.

It is the time of the Elections. Time to choose the person who shall be the head of the Council as the Chancellor, leading the Republic to (hopefully) prosperity and peace for the next five years.

Since we didn't get status numbers, I think this choice will at least partly determine them.

I'm not fond of conquering right off the bat. It sounds like we're on good terms with all the neighbors. Of course, we don't yet have any problems that we'd want the others to address either.

Since the thalassocracy folks didn't get their gimmick in, I'll pick the Military Candidate not as an expansionist – in the next five years at least – but to develop the navy and maybe sponsor some wide exploration. It should be interesting having naval power after being landlocked in Methiant. Overseas trade colonies, anyone?

I vote for the diplomat, as we could also support a "fleet of friends" as a diplomat.

Well sad that Pheonix didn't end up making it but I do like Jaro too so huzzah! Hmm. Military Candidate I think it'll be a good idea to go a head and establish a good navy to secure the safety of trade and the Republic.

Shortly into your reign you will have to deal with factional issue!

It is about the proposed renovation of road network in the east of Jaro. The Treasury does not wish to sponsor more than one project, and both Bureaucrats and the Military have different ideas on mind; the Bureaucrats wish to invigorate some villages along the roads with much needed expansion, forest-clearing and such, while the Military wants to expand on local garrisons that house the road patrols.

A) Of course the security gets priority! Sorry Bureaucrats, but we need better safety on the roads.
B) If they cannot compromise, then the Treasury won't be sponsoring either of the factions!
