Capture these "Humans" and arm a group of warriors with Sarissas and javellins. Track backwards through the desert. If they encounter any of these Lizards they speak of we will avoid unnecessary conflict, but will fight if necessary.
We will experiment with heating sand at home.

The gods- nay, the world itself- demand bloodshed. Steelclaw knows to heed the word of shamans; after taking a score of captives as thralls, and filling his hold with food and drink, he has his navigator bless the ships for a westward journey, across the ocean. The Maiden shudders as she is cast off from the shore, her sails snapping in the breeze, eager to be out to sea once more.

Steelclaw heads west, to scour the desert for strong foes in which to bury his blade.

So we have crocodile men, snake people and essentially the norse meeting XD

The Acid-Maw are large extremely strong and have powerful natural weapons (And acidic saliva?) As well as spears and blowpipes, but are adapted to swamps- They can't hide well, but won't sink into the sand.

The Lakami are 11 meter long constrictor snakes with a human upper body and mobie ears. They are carrying broze sarissas, and snakes are capable of lunging most of their body length and then pulling back. Easy 15 meter reach for combat. They also can see temperature differences and are evolved for deserts.

The... Norþwer (Northmen) have the best metallurgy, but the least immediately available national support- I'm assuming spears and large round shields since they're... y'know. Norþwer. And they're going viking. They hardly want axes or swords. MAYBE Dane axes... They have the disadvantage of not being über reptillians but humans who hail from the north in a desert.

The... Norþwer (Northmen) have the best metallurgy, but the least immediately available national support- I'm assuming spears and large round shields since they're... y'know. Norþwer. And they're going viking. They hardly want axes or swords. MAYBE Dane axes... They have the disadvantage of not being über reptillians but humans who hail from the north in a desert.

The majority are armed with iron-tipped spears and wooden shields. However, the elite are armed with steel, in the form of axes or swords, and bring iron armour for large battles.
Their helmets, you will be pleased to hear, are not adorned with horns.
As for the desert thing, the Icy Maiden brings her own weather with her. The Ijzervolk can hide on their ships during the day, and embark on raids at night, when the temperature is more to their liking.

Nice. The Lakami seem to have the biggest advantage due to their reach and being 400 kg constrictor snakes with arms and human body parts, but this battle (If it turns out to be a battle and not the friendship of nightmares) is gonna be awesome!

And if we become friends it'll be a nightmare for the Iomeer

Flame thinks a bit and decides to goad the warriors to his cave. He flies behind them and sets part of the forest on fire around them, excepting the direction to the cave.

Fly over to that cliff and scout it for any sign of danger. If there's nothing wrong, fly back and carry the goats to brambles.

Two things to note here. The Lizardman may have some traits like acidic saliva like their Gila monster brethren but it is probably uncommon for them, sharp claws and a nasty bite are of course a common trait to most of them. The main two traits you ignored is their increased health regeneration compared to other people, they can lose limbs and over a period of months to a year can regrow that limb, drugs of course hastened the process. They are effective survivalists because of this and can live through the worst amount of critical injuries and than still have the ability to come right back up. Secondly the Lizardfolk suffer a thing called "Feral Rage" which means that a lizard doesn't back down from a fight, when a lizardfolk is on the urge of fleeing and knows it's going to die; it instead goes into a primal rage based on inner instincts and fights to its last breath. However, it makes leadership and coordination among the lizards difficult because once in a primal rage it's really difficult to make them follow orders and not have themselves lead to charging into death.

The farming is a bit of a pain in the swampy land, but you get fairly organised. Your scouts find a herd of goats and some large clawed footprints in the mountains. You look at some spears the Iomeerans are willing to trade, they are wondrous, better than anything you have ever seen, their heads gleam, sharper than any stone spear and the haft is unbelievably sturdy. There is one problem however... They average 2 meters long, and are far too big for you. The selective breeding program begins, but will take time to bear fruit.

With the farms ready, have a few crafts Yings make some simple farming equipment. Leave a scout in the area of the goats to keep watch just in case, he will be rewarded an extra portion of the next shellfish harvest for his trouble. Don't buy the spears, but see if we can acquisition some custom made ones with our meager supply of fish and Iomeeran currency.

Lakami
Armed with long spears and javelins you backtrack the humans' path, finding another small group, who flee to the south. Pursuing them through the dunes. Eventually you find another encampment- a group of large bipedal lizards. You think these are the lizards those other humans talked about. Interesting.
Back home, your experiments bear glass. You discover a hard crystal thing from melting sand.

Acid-Maws
Pursuing the human slave north, you get frustrated, thinking you've lost them when about half the escaped slaves flee into your camp screaming about snakes. About five minutes later, some massive snakes with humanish torsos, arms and heads crest the dune. How odd.

Flame
Your trap works, but some magic pulls the soldiers back- They've started fighting smarter. You're heading back to your cave to rest a little when the ground heaves, trees uproot and splinter- You watch a tree older than the Iomeeran empire fall in a cloud of splinters as it's roots are crushed by the bucking earth, and something sounds like it's... bubbling?
Regardless, you rest in your cave for a night, but wake up shortly after dawn- the trees that still stand smell... wrong.

Tree
You investigate the cliff, but find nothing that might hurt your goats. You have carried half of them up the cliff, when the ground shudders. The cliff gives way, crushing the goats beneath it, and the goats above fall to their death. Your previously large herd is now reduced to the five you were carrying. To make matters worse, your cave has collapsed too.

Ijzervolk
You set sail for the desert to find glorious war. You will arrive next turn. The shaman tells of two rivers- One northern, with two mouths to sail up, and one southern with only one mouth. Apparently either will lead you to the war you seek, but will lead you to much different fights.

Yinglet
The goat herd you were watching was guarded by a dragon, but the majority was crushed under a collapsing cliff face during the heaving of the earth. You attempt to bargain for spears made for you, but they turn you away for being "too poor" However, one man offers to pay for your spears if him and some "Associates" can study you.

Steelclaw casts the runes; they say to follow the two-headed dragon. The course is set for the northern delta. The clouds following the Icy Maiden billow up violently, as the ship anticipates the battles ahead. Stormy weather lies ahead for the desert-dwellers.
