So what you're saying is that it's ripe for colonial exploitation? :D

Imagine it a bit like Germany after the thirty years war. If you find anything ripe for any exploitation you have found the one place not touched by war.

Welcome to Asia in RSBE.

Everything bad that happened in human history? It all somehow congealed into India and China.

Europe escaped the Black Death and the Thirty Years war, thats why its population is around a billion right now.

Meanwhile China and India were hit by the full brunt of the black death, which lasted decades longer. And then on top of that, the Mongol Empire, basically being denied invasion to the west concentrated all on the east. On China. China in general has been in a constant state of war since 1444.

India on the other hand well, india had the Persians. And the Timurids. And the Yarkand. And the Alans. And the Mansurids. And then it had a 130 year long on and off war with Bengal. No pauses, just endless grind.

Thats why All of China and India Combined tick in at around 280 Million right now. That is counting all of southeast asia with it that is. And Oirat.

I guess I will take the the Iberian peninsula than, with a claim of the Communist People Republic of Asturias. I'd imagine it's going to be on insane difficulty for me.

Edit: Question however, not seeing it in either the european or minnows section, what is that orangish-brown nation near Asturia?

Edit 2: Why is Fetishist a religion in the Iberian peninsula?, and why does it even have 30% of the population become in that... stuff. You would think their would be a sense of decency in the human individuals.

Sign me up for Persia!  I am sure that the massive borders, varied cultures, weird government combination and low tech will not be an issue.

Running the marathon from CK2 up to Vicky2 is a feat in itself! Out of curiosity, did you add any special rules, or ignore/pass up any DLCs? Did you change core settings in Victoria?

Colour me interested. I'm down to rule:

1. Jomsvikings
2. Italy
3. The Rus
4. Mali
5. The Oriat

I'd like to be close to the action, so if no one picks up Italy I'm game. I'd prefer the challenges of norse africa, though, if you fill up more seats.

Well then lets have a look.

The brownish-orange part next to Asturias is in fact part of Frisia which i forgot to mention. Portugese Frisia has been in their hands for the better part of 200 years now.

@Silcugar:

I took with me all DLCs up to Mandate of Heaven and the one before the chinese one in CK2.
Several things are out of the ordinary however:
I regularly switched nations in CK2, personally i only reformed the West African (Fetishist), Summonesko and Zun Faith. Beyond that i had no hand in matters of faith.
What i had a hand in however was the downfall of the Frankish Empire. After Charles the Blind it repeatedly fell into complete civil war, yet somehow managed to still get a personal union with Saxony and threatened to eat up all of Scandinavia, so i intervened, as a small Germanic Saxon Count, who through excessive murder cajoling and secret culting became Emperor of all of Francia. I also had allowed free granting of Independence and a limitless amount of republics and theocraies in your realm. Basically with him in charge i first tried to turn Francia pagan which worked mediocre. I got bored rapidly with it and so went on to reform the West African Faith, all the while watching as civil war upon civil war caused rapid switches between catholics and heathens. And Francia was STILL growing. So i went back in took another pagan count made my way to the top and dismantled the entire thing by granting each duchy independence.
In EUIV i started as one of the Manchurian Tribes, formed Qing and took the Mandate of Heaven. Then i switched to Japan and watched in awe as Qing was pommeled back into Manchuria. before it could be erased i began a series of long and bloody wars mostly in the interest of claiming manchuria for myself. The resulting losses were not nearly worth the land gained and so i instead hunkered down in Korea and occassionally declared war letting the chinese die on the slopes of North Koreas mountain chains.
As for EUIV the converter worked horribly and so all of the nations had to be manually recreated by me, in a mixture of creating custom nations and simply going into the files afterwards and modifying religions and nations in places.
Vicky2 finally didn't recieve any changes to core settings, didn't find out about the awesomeness of the Pop Demand mod until much later.
In Vicky 2 i played mostly swabia which had already grown to the second most dominant nation on european soil. Except for Italy. Which owned all of the Balkans, Half of Poland was going well into spain and was on a happy muderous genocide spree after killing the Byzantine Empire, the Lithuanian Commonwealth and generally whatever ruled in the Balkans before i looked at it.
Basically the entire game was spent fighting italy, occasionally helping out greater Saxony to keep its integrity, putting Frisia back into place (with some reluctance) after it repeatedly had decided that helping italy was more worthwile. Colonizing bits of africa, joining one war with japan and deciding that it was not worth it, dropping out of the war and watching as the Japanese/European Border moved from the Rockies to the Great Plains. Pushing Scandinavia out of Germany and giving those lands to the Saxons, pushing Poland out of Prussia and giving those lands to the Saxons. Pushing the Saxons back across the Main Czechoslovakia line for declaring repeated wars to make me communist. Yeah and somehow along the way ending up with twice as much industry as the next three nations.

Anyway:
Taricus - Japan
VoidSlayer - Persia
Silcugar - Jomsvikings
Shadowclaw777 - Communist Peoples Republic of Asturias
Secheral - Blackfoot

i'll wait till tomorrow till i open the initial thread, in case anybody else wants a place.

> American Kingdom (because we'll make America great again, BETTER IN A GOOD WAY)
> Scandinavia
> Ming Empire

Also wondering why Palawan is teal, but looking at Australia and others, there's also that splotchy teal there. Humpf.

Palawan and Australia are remnants of the once great nation of Tidore. Nowadays its not so great anymore...let me have a quick look into what we work with here.

Well then Tidore is a nation of 10.66 million souls with its capital-in-exile in Palmerston Northern Australia.
Once owning large swathes of New Guinea and Australia it lost these territories in several bloody wars with the japanese, despite giving them a bloody nose.

For its relatively small size, Tidore packs quite a punch, with a massive (if ancient) navy and a modern, large and well-trained military. Apart from the Colonial Powers and Sukothai it is the largest dog in the yard that is South-East Asia.

Its a Presidential Dictatorship with the National Party (reactionaries) in charge.

Literacy is at 44% and the country seems to have just climbed out of an economic depression, making a steady profit on Airplanes, Clothing and Tropical Wood. In fact its is the fourth largest producer of airplanes and Tidore Airways covers most of South-East Asia already. Its also the 5th largest producer of Clothing and the third largest exporter of tropical wood.

So yeah Tidore is nothing to sneeze at.

Anyway, if you want to play Irish Canada i will write you down for it.

IC-Thread is up.

Tiruin, which faction do you want to play? Tidore or Irish Canada or one of the other four?

Oh wow. I love alternate world histories quite a bit. Still got space? And if so, is there any region that it might be a good idea for somebody to pop into?

In case it doesn't matter much, here's my priority list, i'm willing to adjust based on what makes the most sense for region balance:

1.Colombia
2.Oirat
3.Ming Empire
4. Kievan Rus
5.United Kingdom of Ireland and Pictland

Excellent. Would it make sense for me to flavor future actions as if they are primarily being sponsored by one of the three segments of the coalition government, or is the makeup of my ruling government more something i have to deal with than something i exercise control over?
