Sacrilege
From history immemorial, records of mankind paved the path for civilizations to flourish; from localized, to regionalized, to nationwide control, and then international communication. Mankind flourished from their connection to one thing most natural: Thoughts. In generations from the beginning of written history, thoughts were the building block of societies and stories; from concept to idea to application, they were the figurative foundation to our present reality of today. They were ascribed to deities, of whom were borne from thought itself--ideas shaped in a higher power, of which were created in forms of many kinds.
A person in this modern world would feel belittled, humbled, or even awed, by how important their everyday life affects the world inasmuch as a drop of water affects an ocean, and this exists only because of how connected our societies have become. It is easy to become lost in the abstract and disconnect to what is around, when access and availability exists so freely. And yet this became the framework of an even greater being--one who worked with thought in its own timeline. Serapis, the name of an ancient deity, became the cornerstone of society rather than man's free thoughts, and changed the world inside the enigma of time. We learn, that memories are what we use the most; and will learn that we hold more than what we usually see.

Welcome to Sacrilege, a high fantasy, roleplaying-heavy forum game that takes place in a theme of our modern world warped by an ancient God, personified, characterized, and limited like us mortals, yet which begins
in media res. This is a world where history and the present time is taken over by Serapis, god of Alexandria. He rose from the sands of time to conquer your world as he had conquered his own, remodeling it to his writing and knowledge, with enough control to wipe the memories of every sentient being alive into believing it had always been this way, once.
All modern inventions still exist, and can be found; they are incredibly rare, and will either be preciously kept items believed to be much like magic or art pieces as no one knows what they do. Devices are generally not fully understood, with the technology gap being vast, and may be scrapped for parts. Your characters are some of the lucky few who still remember their own lives, due to being able to wield 'magic'. However, your friends, enemies, even your family, have no memory of you, and all believe they are the followers of Serapis who live in a time and place that is a conglomeration of Ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian culture, albeit with modern day mannerisms. All characters live relatively close together, all in proximity to the capital city.
This game updates at least once weekly.
I will be using Tiruin's prototype of RtD dice, which combines modifications of Piecewise's skill system and her own edits, and borrowing stats from RtDs and Forum Games (like Gatleos' attribute stats) for mechanics. The basis is the 1d10, modeled after the traditional 1d6 system; every number from 2-9 in a 1d10 represents 2-5 as 1d6's, with both extremes remaining as fluid extremes. The middle ground will be treated with fixed intervals. (i.e. 1; 2-3; 4-5; 6-7; 8-9; 10) as a scaling system of the degree of your action, its effect, or environmental factors, rather than controlling only the outcome of your action to permit flexibility. Skills and attribute values which are high enough to a + to the roll, make the roll be treated as if it is a degree higher relative to how much the + value is. An 8 would be treated like a 9 (but would still appear as an
, and a catastrophic 1, would still be a 1, but with a slightly better outcome incidentally.
In some scenarios, no roll will be needed if the action taken sets its own context of continuation.
For inactivity, Players will be given 3 "turns" (posts that follow up everyone's actions) before being put in cold storage, where the next person on the waitlist will replace them. They can resume that character if they come back and there is an open spot
The rules of how things happen in game is that I am doing my best to be impartial, from bad things which happen to your character to otherwise.
You each start with three "powers" three magical abilities that all match a theme for instance, you can have great eyesight, flight, and sharp, talon like claws with the theme "bird of prey" but not water breathing, fire shooting, and turning into a duck as there is no central theme of those three. Be freely creative, but GM gets veto power. You also have three mundane skills, abilities that a normal human being may have, such as knowledge of which plants are edible, or how to sword fight. These need no central theme, but do need to make sense, you can't know how to make a gun out of sticks and leaves.
Finally, you each pick three people in the world that you had connections to before the game; all relationships are towards NPCs, and all of whom do not remember you, but their personality is the same. It can be friends, enemies, people you used to date, or even family. Give a description their personality, physical features, and say where they are in this new world, meaning their occupation. They could, for example, own a barter shop, or be a member of Serapis's army.
Backstories are optional, but they are heavily recommended as they flesh out your character and future plan or basic idea for the GM, making life easier for all involved. This also results in contextual bonuses compared to a blank slate of a character.
You can readily assume you are at least a young adult.
Backstory and relations are to be PMed to me; you can choose to turn over the ability to pick the location of a relation to me, in which case they will likely have a more important spot in the story, but you will not know what it is. Tiruin is working as a bookkeeper and co-GM for my game.

Sophie Hart(girlfriend): Caleb's girlfriend for three years now, they met at summer camp when they were 12 and started dating at 15. She is stubborn, headstrong, and not afraid to speak her mind. She is quick to anger, and it's normally Caleb's job to cool her down. She has chocolate brown hair and eyes with pail skin, and an attractive build. Currently a priestess of Serapis in the capital city.
Micheal Venendez(former bully/rival): Caleb's bully from summer camp. He was a jackass who picks on anyone he thinks he can get away with it. Fortunately, the councilors know what he is doing. Caleb, who used to suffer from major issues with socializing, was his primary target. Eventually, Caleb out grew his issues and got into a full on confrontation with Micheal. After it, both were in the camp clinic for a while, and Micheal gained some respect for Caleb. Micheal stopped being a bully and became Caleb's friend/rival, someone who was always trying to out do everything he did, or do it first. He is Brazilian, and has brown hair and eyes, along with plenty of scars from fights he has gotten into in the past, along with plenty of muscle. Currently a member of Serapis's army.
Ryan Hunter(friend): Ryan and Caleb met when Caleb was 12 and Ryan was 10. Ryan was a lonely child and when Caleb decided to be his friend, Ryan immediately said yes. From that point on, Ryan was Caleb's constant shadow, following him around and helping him with what he need. Even once Ryan became a rebellious teenager, he still followed Caleb's order, and no one else's. He is tall, tan, and muscular, with oak brown hair and a muscular build. He is a flirt, and a jokester, but he will do whatever it takes to help a person or cause he believes in, and when he finally got a girlfriend, his flintiness was toned down. He is a member of the anti Serapis resistance.
I will not make an example backstory as you can make your backstory how ever you want, but I'd suggest 2000 words or more. It can definitely be shorter, but this is just my suggestion.
