Hype Train, DF style :)

I've not had a lot of time to play lately, but I'm looking forward to starting a few fortresses and seeing how they go horrifically wrong in the new release.

Also, I'm modding [CAN_SPEAK] and [ALL_MAIN_POPS_CONTROLLABLE] to kobolds, then embarking on a quest with my fellow thieves to steal ALL the artifacts!

After finding out that animal people can migrate over an ocean, I'm thinking of creating my first 257x257 pre-set value map - mostly like pocket, expect with rest of the space filled with 100ish tile biomes containing megabeasts and animal people.

Can't do the geography specifics now, though, as caves change it - and I desire to see the new kobolds.

With the new kobolds and trivial modding you could start a raiding party and steal artifacts!

Ooh? Dwarf-Pirates?

Less than a year to go before Mythgen starts development. Woohoo!
I dread to think how long that will take. I fear it will rival 40.00 for dev-time. On the bright side, we'll have ample time for memory-mapping. Here's to another golden age of modding!

I imagine it'll be split up a bit.  But yeah, 18 months per release? I know Toady said he didn't want any more 2+ year releases, but, well, we'll see.

And, to be fair, there's nothing resembling a metric to go off of. It's weird to think the current release is taking longer than 42.01 did.

I like to think it's because he released 42.01 and then started adding the suggestions and promises during the bug-fixing phase, whereas this time he's doing a lot of the extra stuff before the initial release. Meaning more focus on bugs, less time overall until mythgen starts.

I like to think that anyhow...

My guess is early October! Less than a month 'til we have raiding parties and criminals and artifact fun! (Plus I get to fully dive into the last release's new stuff, since I took a DF and Bay12 hiatus partway through v0.43's bugfixing phase.)
