You manage to trip the skeleton to the ground, but it easily resists your grapple. It still took a bit of damage and wasted its turn getting back up.
You cast a simple Bless spell for you and your friends Arsintoile and Billy Bob. It will take effect for the next action, whether it be yours or theirs. You then meditate.
Your spell sparks and you accidentally summon a monster instead of learning how to control them. A winged cat pounces on you.
After searching for a bit, you find and kill another deer.
It is extremely quiet here... it's almost scary how quiet it is. Dead statue eyes stare at you endlessly. Nobody's home... for now.
Your wolf dances happily with you in the rain. You feel closer to your animal companion.
You fish and think about working your forge whilst doing so.
You get some charcoal and try the spell on a nearby bear. It doesn't seem to notice you, and you realize that bears must be more advanced than the 'Simple' disclaimer in your current spell. You still have the Charcoal, but you wasted the mana. At least it gave you some experience and knowledge. Your friend Wren calls you over and after they cast a spell, you feel a bit different.
You sleep, and in your sleep you dream. The word science crumbles to dust underneath a much larger word: Magic. Science may explain evolution and biology, but with everything that has happened lately with monsters appearing and the world collapsing, you think science kind of fell out of popularity. You feel inspired by these ideas, and instead learn about the magics that have something to do with biology and mutations.
