Summer of 351
As word spread of countries retreating from the kingdom, a sudden rush for nationhood overtook Falas. More than half a dozen new kingdoms were all created in the spring of 351. One of the driving forces behind this was the sudden prevalence of great beasts in the region. Each of the nations were suddenly faced with new, unknown, or otherwise dangerous issues. Scholars would argue for centuries as to whether or not the death of the Last King allowed for the monsters to return, or if the two events shared an underlying cause....
Trade between the many nations began to take root, and trading routes were quickly established, much to the benefit of those who shared them. Iron became as common as gold, and mining increased across the world. The world had become stranger and dangerous, so man reacted as man always does, by taking up arms...
Adjilia faced it's dangers by constructing a second workshop in order to produce more trade goods and other metal objects. They also erected one of the first trade routes with the Morosian League, sending some of their workshop's goods across the sea, which it is currently located. Scholars researched with vigor, the subject of their studies a national secret. An engineer was hired and trained as well. What could those Adjilians be planning.
The Morosian League almost immediately became the center of the world economy, they sent a merchant North to Isteria, and a ship west to Adjilia. This coupled with their nearby trade partner of Iethos made the League a central point in the new world economy. Their leader, Dneth personally travels to Adjilia to bring wine and begin trading agreements with the nation. While they are away, increased farming and fishing are underway. A few weeks into the season a ship loaded to the brim with hermit crab repellent arrives in Moros. This foul smelling concoction, keeps the hermits away from areas in which it is used. Most hermits are successfully redirected away from towns and cities.
Icthos followed its neighbors in succession, though it was not a difficult decision to make. The prude rule of the Kingdom had stifled the area and upset the people for far too long. Now Icthos has taken to the seas, catching fish and large beasts alike. The future appears bright for this nautical nation.
A strange sight is seen in the ocean between Grauerstein and Icthos. Ships made of a strange stone float across the water in a display that seems to spit in the face of both the gods and physics. Yet, float those stone ships do. They are seen fishing, rather successfully, in the area. Meanwhile, little is heard from the interior of the nation.
No word is heard from Isteria. Surely they must be doing something, but no news escapes their borders.
The hinterland known as Bronnadren was one of the first abandoned by the King, but among the last to resend their loyalties. Life changed little for the people who live here, as their lives had always been fairly Hobbsian. Nasty, brutish, and short. Though, the actual culture and people is strong and resilient, a perfect example of the triumph of mortal man. A ship heads out to do trade with the rest of the world, while the rest of the country deals with an infestation of large proportions.
Among those who withdrew from the kingdom, Sindar was one who was conflicted about such an action. Yet, change was necessary. New dangers lurked in unexpected places, yet for the most part, the known dangers were kept at bay. A ship is sent to Adjilia to trade iron for coin.
Yhillin is by and large one of the most vibrant cities in the world. Its colors bright, the sights, sounds, smells, and people are all pleasing to the senses. It is a bastion of culture, color, and freedom. It has shaken off the yoke of the Last King, and has conquered by a powerful sorceress. Although, many common folk fear and hate their new queen for her dark powers. Similarly, it seems so to does the nature spirits in the area. Although the exact results of that interaction are not public knowledge. Although it is safe to say, there is more than one way to deal with trents... A newly constructed mine sends iron to Skkoland to trade while Lady Eris herself goes to meet with the leader of the country.
No word is heard from Ligoria. Surely they must be doing something, but no news escapes their borders.
No word is heard from Skkoland. Surely they must be doing something, but no news escapes their borders.
The summer of 351 was plagued with a host of terrors of such variety and unsuality that many at the time believed the world was descending into chaos. A whole host of terrors affected the vary livelihood of the people of Falas. It was during this period that the new rulers solidified their prowess and earned the titles they had claimed in the previous season...
