How do we know how much coin and other resources we have?

At this time there doesn't seem to be any particular risk. If there had been sightings of sea monsters or pirates, then I would advise you not to send your leader. That doesn't preclude them being there of course, and the remnants Kingdom's armada still patrols the sea (they're likely your biggest threat on this journey). Spring also is the stormy season, but if it was a particularly bad year, you would get info on that during the beginning of the turn.

Mostly the way it works is that each nation will  have a unique issue each season, and global/region issues will be posted in the IC by me at the start of each turn.

How do we know how much coin and other resources we have?

You will get a PM each season. I'm working on yours now.

Hmm. Would an overland journey be safer? If I sent an escort along with him, he should be fine, right?

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

I realise that, I was thinking of sending him to Isteria, and sending the merchant I was going to send there to Adjilia instead.

Look, Dneth's the kind of guy who could squeeze water from a stone. If there is some way of establishing two trade routes in one turn without undue risk, by the gods he is going to find it.
...but if the GM says no, then I think the trade route with Adjilia will have to wait- gadgets are nice, but I need the products of Isteria (well, one specific product) like yesterday, so the trade route with them takes priority.

That question depends on the events in the area and the areas inbetween. Land journeys have the potentials for beasts, bandits, and other various dangers. Whereas seas normally risk storms, pirates, and sea monsters. Sending an escort is a good way to hedge your bets, as even a militia can fight off lesser dangers. If one worries that monstrosities may impede a journey, a beast slayer would be a prudent choice.

It is quite possible to get two routes, and as far as your information shows, there are not any great risks in attempting such a journey during this time. You will almost always be made aware when there are standing dangers lurking nearby. Though, a scout unit of some sort could check in advance to see if any dangers are lurking undetected, but we don't have anyone with that sort of unit yet.

If we could get Adjilian trade routes to get to the other players, I will be making it so ASAP. This is why I want airships.

I PERSONALLY would recommend against Walking up to my front door, If you want to know why then think of how I described my lands and WHAT lives in it.

Oh damn I better hurry up and get my sheet in. Is it okay if I reserve my landmass right now? I want the top half of that island to the northeast, and a decent chunk of the pinensula on the landmass directly to the west.

Like this? Or do you mean off in the corner there?

Up in the corner actually on that isolated phallic shaped island and then a nearby piece of the Western landmass.

Btw, I don't know if this was already covered, but do we get to determine what resources our lands have or is that predetermined by you?

I'd say its mildly determined by how you describe your country.

Your land is mostly determined by you. But if it is extremely strong or unusual I may nerf it a little.

I hadn't noticed how phallic that islands was... oh well. That far north, things are likely to be on the chilly side, so if you want something tropical, you may want to pick something more equatorial.
