He heaves a sigh. "Very. I suppose being Freyja's... guard should help, at least for me. But everyone else..."

"The.....Emperor had a point. You....can't expect change to happen so quickly. People aren't......easy to change. But.....you can try to make it better....until then."

[SOLDIER First]

"I just-- it's not a good enough effort. One day our children, or maybe their children, won't have to experience this oppression, but what about now? By his own admission the Emperor's guard is full of the same kind of people I've come to hate with a passion. Who knows what they'll be doing with their power until then...?

[SOLDIER First]

"...I can always acquaint them with my fist. It works quite well when I'm alone." Geraint pauses and then gives a bitter laugh.

"Who am I kidding? I can't cudgel every single person in the city."

The man then looks a little sideways at Elaine. "You should know...?"

He nods curtly.

"In any case... thank you. For your support."
