I'd enjoy going the friendly enemies route with these guys, at least as much as we're able to. If they're going to defeat us, I'd at least like to be able to respect them, and have their respect back.

Glass is, as usual, correct.
Yep, as ever, I bestow upon Glass the expected +1
I'm gonna say we go with whatever Glass's idea is.

So then that means that you the no B would be a better option?

A

part of me thinks we are going to help them if we solve the anomaly, part of me thinks they might use it against us,

Glass, your opinion has been made into option D. Wich means we are tied ABD. Someone else stumble in.

Okay I'll change my vote since I've been outvoted.

B, let's not fight them until we have too, no point in wasting lives right now.

You know what? He probably meant B. Let's go with that.

B, let's not fight them until we have too, no point in wasting lives right now.

Aww, you fell for it!

The Cherubs leap into the eye of the anomaly and struggle against the antigravity, straining against the exposed ocean surface to reach the crystal causing it.

Suddenly something shifts.

The anomaly reverses direction.

The first thing the Cherubs feel is gravity now pressing them furiously to the ground. The second thing is a couple thousand gallons of water cascading upon their heads.

Between the now miles of water drawn on top of them, and the now 10G gravitational force pressing them to the ground, the Cherubs... well...

*squelch!*

You now have scientists, dogs, and bomb squad. They evidently have the control crystal and know how to use it. What do you do?

This is why I said, "If they look like they're going to do something with the crystal, we shoot them".

Hmmm, shit.

Scientists, continue working on sabotage

dogs, send some after the figures still on the beach outside the anomaly zone to squash or capture them. (hostages hohoho)

Send the bomb squad to distract the anomaly user from the other side? They could spread and shot him with their normal guns and make the anomaly user focus on them not on the scientists/dogs. and maybe with them spread he can only take a few of them each time.

Call reinforcements, later we tell people that a bunch of kids were hiding near the anomaly zone but we couldn't save them from the rebels.

They didn't do anything visible with the crystal. Maybe one of the figures fumbled with a control in their hand, but remember, the command crystals are thumbnail sized or less and they're a good mile away.

There really isn't a "other side". They're on a spit of land, you see. Here, I'll draw a pretty picture.

I'll take your suggestion, however.

Spoiler: Dice (click to show/hide)

The dogs corner the rebels on a spit of sand. They don't even see anything coming, they're too focused on the anomaly.

The bomb squad opens fire to distract the rebels. The rebels swivel, confused, before firing back, but by then the dogs are upon them.

The dogs leap upon the rebels, who rapidly turn their shotguns upon the dogs. A few are winged, and one gets its brains blown out onto the sand. For their part, the rebels are extremely confused at the level of intellect which the dogs display in their tactical movements.

The rebels barely manage to dodge the dogs and escape down the spit. As they pass the bomb squad, a chance bullet catches one in the leg, and the other has to drag him into the forest.

In the debrief, the dogs report that the rebels watching from the shoreline were the grandparent the girl - meaning Calvin (the cool kid) had gone to get the anomaly. Sam Drimoxi had been wounded. One dog also saw an amulet with control shards of andantesite glittering in it in Anna Drimoxi's hand - likely the control device. They attempted to damage it, but failed.

Meanwhile, Andrew Calvin has almost reached the anomaly, now a growing blob of water in the deep sea.

A quick fluid dynamics lesson is in order. The enhanced gravity is pulling Andrew, but also the water, so he's in fact more buoyant than he usually would be. He basically cannot reach the crystal unless the gravity is shut down.

On the minus side, dogs and bomb squads don't like to swim.

What do you do?

A: Chase after Andrew
B: Chase after the Drimoxis
C: Make a PR spectacle about the dead kids and shot dog, giving you +2 political

Again, you can choose two, but the second one (chosen next post) will have a -1 to it's roll. C provides only +1 next turn.

Also describe every extraordinary measure used to ensure the safe transfer of Jacob Eldin (the coward) from the museum to the South Georgias. Trucks, boats, guards, etc. Otherwise I apply the Conservation Of Ninjutsu and make all the guards useless mooks.

Jacob Eledin is physically shackled and guarded by a squad composed of police from our most violent urban areas that we had on hand, Proffesonal game trackers should he escape and several blood hounds with articles of his clothing are on board,  he is in one of our older simpler steamships, with the room reserved for him, this room has only one entrance and one exit, nonetheless we will have some cards stationed below the room if possible in case he should somehow break through the floor.

There is a second smaller ship carrying a few soldiers circling around his just in case he man just make it into the water, which would kill him eventually anyway, but best not take chances.

As for the current situation,  you should definitely make a PR campaign piece out of it. That Is option C.

C He can't reach the Crystal, he will have to go to the shore or die drowned.

When we capture him we can make him rat the other rebels.

And with luck, one of them might kill themselves when they see that they killed kids and are hated even more by the population

C has been selected.

The headline reads, REBEL ATTACK ROCKS COASTLINE; KILLS THREE CHILDREN, DOG. Public outrage about the rebels intensifies; you will likely be able to use this to sneak some more... unscrupulous methods of catching the rebels under the radar.

+2 to political, for a net +2 (-1 cherubs +1 ID +2 this)

Nice! Roll on complications.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Storms along the Drake Passage (the hazardous, rough patch of sea between the end of South America and Antarctica) mean that the area will be closed to boat travel for the next week and a half at least. You need to pass this to reach the South Georgias.

What do you do?
A: Continue onward during a subsidence of the storms
B: Delay the transfer and hold him until the Drake Passage calms
C: Seek an alternate destination for exile

What about the current situation? (-1 now)
A: Pursue Andrew, who has now swam right up to the edge of the anomaly
B: Pursue the Drimoxis, who have run into the jungle at the edge of the beach
C: Wait for reinforcements
