Do you want a TLDR of what we have?

Depending on what they came up with, perhaps we should make a more cautious tactic for our ships. With speed on our side, we might be able to dance out of range whenever the shroud takes a hit and wait for it to recharge.

Alternatively, a divide-and-conquer approach could work well, especially if they're slow to update their tactics.

I would think an outrun-and-gun-down method, but it depends on what they've done. We're faster and our guns hit harder, so we ought to use that to deliver early-fight killing blows (Swoop in from above and blow everyone off the deck, for instance) to prevent things from dragging out long enough to damage our ships.

We may want to wait with ship tactics until we have a prototype Cloudrunner, so that we can design our tactics to work with it.

Effectively our guns don't hit harder - It takes 2 shots to down a skiff with a normal aether cannon. Mostly ours just have more sustained fire.

Our guns should be 20-30% more effective like the rest of our crystals.

That number gets higher every time someone brings it up...

After you finish the project, your crystals improve by 15-25% from base.

I don't think tactics are constrained to particular pieces of equipment though? I mean, our Crossbow Corridors of Carnage tactic, I'm fairly certain will work with any ranged weapon despite its name, it just so happened that the budget did not allow anything other than Pincushions this turn.

(Although that said, some types of equipment and ships probably would be less suitable for some tactics than others, for instance, I don't see a big, bulky battleship taking being given an 'Evasive Maneuvers at all costs!' tactic well)

Yeah, I meant that the tactics are suitable for it. Like, if it turns out to be slow but powerful, we'd want different tactics from if it is fast and weak.

Tactics are only one die, so we can roll something up for the skyskiff if needed without too much trouble...

I think tactics can be regular designs as well as revisions, it just depends on how different they are from existing tactics. In fact, I know they can, since the example in the core thread OP as to the difference between designs and revisions is literally about tactics.

Well, Draig, blame whoever said 20-30% in the first place.

And it's ONLY a 5% increase. You should just roll with it instead.

@Nuke: You are right, I just looked it up and that is how it is... Still, most basic combat tactics will be revisions I assume.
