If I run the turn before the tie is broken, I'll err in the side of caution over the nixing of the VPL project.

Bronzewood
[Time: 6 Progress: 1 Cost: 6]

The new 'bronzewood' project is basically given the materials, seedlings, and budget of the old ironwood project and is told to 'go home and do it again'. The engineers do have to scratch their heads a bit to make sense of what kind of new-fangled tree-breeding techniques they're going to be using, but they do eventually get the picture and provide a cost/time estimate that's rather unexpectedly rosy.

Bronzewood: 1/9 | 5 Wood | Rushed 0 Times | Nothing Invested

Prototype
[Efficacy: 3 Cost: 6 Bugs: 1]

Their early seedling recombinations show promise, creating more robust trees that can be formed into general timber shapes more easily, and retain much of their strength and fire resistance after treatment. As an interesting benefit, their research also seems to have taken the line of the fastest growing and reproducing tree-types, which neatly inverts the cost profile over the original ironwood project.

Unfortunately, their new strains have done nothing to address or solve any of the 'issues' present in the the original ironwood project- notably its phenomenal weight and tendency to warp after treatment.

Bronzewood Construction: Construct the wooden components of an item using bronzewood. Increases the items structural integrity by about 35% and makes it fairly fire resistant. Dramatically increases weight. Costs a third more than the normal wood cost. Has a 50% chance to generate a 'warped' object, which performs worse than a standard object in every way, and can be fixed by paying the multiplied wood cost again.

AIM
Progress: 6/27
Progress on the mist dissipation engine goes surprisingly fast, despite being done while sober.

Spire Kasgyre's Production stands at
13(+10)/y Crystal, 35/115 Banked
17/y Ore, 28/85 banked
19/y Wood, 95/95 banked
10/y Silk, 21/50 banked

It is now the revision phase. You have 3 dice to spend.

Well, that's not too bad. We obviously need to throw a revision at it to fix the "Warping" nonsense, and possibly another for weight, but I'm reasonably happy with it.

Draig: How much is a "dramatic increase" in weight? Are we talking two or more times heavier, or ten or more times?

Well, it depends on the wood, but it's about 250% the weight of oak timber.

Transport Update

The goal of this revision is to modify the cores of our transports to fit a medium core to provide better shroud capacity.

I suggest two revision dice.

Don't waste a revision fixing the warping. Bronzewood is cheap enough that we can just throw more wood at it, averaging to twice the wood per ship.

Lets revise the weight down so our ships will still have some speed and maneuverability.

Tactic: Strafe infrastructure

Our first aerial tactic to develop a hostile landing. Our ships attack enemy docks, targeting dockyard defenses initially, personal second, and the actual infrastructure last of all.

(we can use this to raze the undefended docks at the UF, And we would have to develop tactics like this sooner or later anyways.)

Tower Shields
Take the light mobile cover. Chop it into multiple sections, strip away the crystal, strip away the silk, and strip away all or most of the metal (because a smaller chunk doesn't need so much reinforcement). It's a large wooden shield for our marines to hide behind.

It will provide cover from Wreth's shitty crossbows while they advance under cover of shroud, giving them no effective way to kill our men. It uses up a hand, but that shouldn't matter since most of our marines have pistols and the rest can hide behind them. Probably best combined with a shield wall tactic, but defensive fire could do okay.

Tactic: Bomb infrastructure

+1. But it should be called strafing infrastructure since we don't have any bombs yet, just cannons. Unless we want to start dropping grenades out of skiffs (which might not be a terrible idea).
