That's a bit risky. If they push skiffs up the other side, either cause they figured out what we were doing, out because they are shifting attention to the unfinished, we might lose our transport and viper. Even then, a handful of skiffs vs enemy super skiff and reinforcements would probably just get slaughtered. -1 to that idea.

Our skyksiffs would get completely wrecked by their own, I doubt we can win a 2v1 in terms of skiffs. However, were going to need to get the Viper back for repairs as quick as possible since we already lost two of the Vipers, and than fully retrofit the docked corvette when we're given the opportunity. Anyways, three dice into the Crystal design will give us a prototype which we're going to see how effective this new Crystal design is going to be.

Well I'm guessing we failed to kill their transport,  which means TC is getting enemy reinforcements this turn.

I'll back the thaddeus for now, but I'll be back in a bit once I've thought things over.

I've been thinking. They now seem to have developed a traditional canon to bypass our shrouds. I think we ought to do the same, especially considering the double shroud they use.

Instead of developing a regular cannon though, i had a different idea.

Our grenades have already shown the effectiveness of exploding overcharged weapons crystals. What if we designed a ballista (we have an extremely powerful crossbow, which might give relative experience) but instead of shooting regular ballista bolts, it shoots shards of crystal, designed to detonate on impact. It should bypass shrouds, and it would be devastatingly effective.

but yea, +1 to progressing the thaddeus in some amount this round for now.

Thaddeus Class Crystal Design
Progress: 19/20 (4+5+5)

The design pace of the Thaddeus is furious, but the team bears the pressure well. They're an odd bunch of men and women, capable of melting down into squabbling and infighting because someone decided that crossbows don't need massive bronze eaglehead bayonets, but also capable of pulling together and working seamlessly on a project to revamp crystal production on a massive scale.

Prototype
[Efficacy:6  Cost: 6+2 Bugs: 2]

The early results of their efforts are... astonishing. Blueprints for crystal farms of all sizes are produced, from breadbox sized units to the hulking vessels of the imperial prototype. The construction materials likewise vary, from sealed wood and hardened clay affordable to the common citizen, to the fine clockwork and sterile glass of the princess' garden, and yet all are functional. The new mini-vats are capable of being flown on chains outside the spire, bathing in light and atmospheric aether, and will steadily grow new crystals from nutrient solutions applied by their tenders. No longer does crystal production necessarily need to be bound up in the stone vatteries of the builders, now it can be put (in part) in the hands of the people!

Of course, there is a certain caveat to that. All the units are capable of growing crystals, however, the quality control is a bit lackluster. Part of this is from the fact that citizenry are not trained vattery specialists and simply do not have the same mastery, or time to devote to gaining mastery, that qualified personnel do. However, there is still a considerable amount of error generated by the construction techniques of the cheaper floating vatteries, problems that all but prevent the crystals from taking a complex matrix, and relegate them to being little more than flawed crystal scrimshaw material or stock for third rate lumin crystals. 

The prototypes given to the princess are of particular note, as they represent the most advanced efforts in their field and are magnificent creations of sterile glass, lacquered wood, copper piping and advanced clockwork. Collectively, the imperial vats are known as the Garden of Glass, and rise from the top of Spire Kasgyre, connected by a webway of silken catwalks. Very few are allowed into the Garden, and it's unknown whether the princess actually has a remarkable knack for growing crystals, or if she has employed the service of a master grower, but her results are unquestionable.

Prototype Result: Imperial Topaz: Special Cost | Glorious crystal of deep amber hue, Imperial Topaz is the nickname for crystal grown by the princess herself in the Garden of Glass. Whatever the technique used by the princess, these creations are of peerless quality, effectively twice as good as a standard crystal. The princess, however, is no vatterer, and does not answer directly to... anyone. As such, production is eccentric. Every round, the princess will have 2d6 random crystal items that she can make. These items have normal cost, but are only available in the amounts specified.

Completion Benefit: Hanging Crystal Gardens: 2 Crystal, 2 Ore, 2 Wood, 2 Silk for one. Government subsidies and buyback programs for the common populace to launch portable vatteries from spire edge properties, gaining a net increase in crystal revenue. Each vattery increases a Spire's crystal production by one. Each spire can fly 5 of these or up to its normal crystal production limit, whichever is higher. The home spire will start with a full complement of these.



It is now the revision phase, you have 2 dice to spend.

Right, it's a production line for crystal only. You can ballpark it as... 300 max production, about 50 per turn. Thereabouts.

You can't. She doesn't actually get a power boost, it's just remarkable she can grow full quality crystal despite being a bloody princess.

Is no one flabbergasted with the rolls, or is that just me? We rolled 6 dice, and 5 of them were all 4 or greater. And than, we roll most importantly a 6 in efficacy which makes them ridiculous, and that's not counting the 6 in cost. Wow... just wow.

Edit: @Draignean, wait so the Princess with her Production line, is producing 50 "pseudo-crystals", with 1/3 of them being useless, so the princess is effectively creating 34 "pseudo-crystals" per turn, and the limitation is that their is a time limit for the maximum amount of "pseudo-crystals" that can be built/grown, of up to 300 "pseudo-crystals" and than the production line is just finished and doesn't provide new crystals?
