I think our current stock of marines should cover us for comms officers, so even if we only produced 1 improved marine squad per turn, I think we'll be fine.

Draig, before I make a plan, do we need to "fit" a Viper with a comms officer at home spire, or would uniting the two be enough?

Also, why did we fit the Ophidian out with three less cannons that max?

Anyway, in a bid to get something done (and being pessimistic about Draig's answer), have a battle plan:

Here's my plan. I like the idea of pushing into their territory. If we can hold there we can possibly land troops on one of their demi spires. But I also want to push up on the right flank. For what ever reason the enemy has no presence there so I see no reason not to expand our perimeter.

Blockading them this turn may not be such a good idea. We know they pulled back from all fronts so we're going to have to be prepared for them launching a major offensive on the three captains.

I might well suggest we use this turn to pull our vipers back and outfit them with comms officers.

My hope is that we can stick three comms officers in the Transport destined for TC next turn, and they can just move over to a Viper each. Logically, I'm not sure how having a comms officer board a ship should take an entire year and a shipyard.

Hrmm that is a point. They will likely figure we're dropping troops at TC this turn so they may make a move hoping to catch our transport. Still they'll be getting out a second warship this turn or soon next turn and I want to deal some damage to their forces before they gain aerial superiority.

Well, the discord is perhaps the only reason Wreth doesn't have three hundred pages of thread, so it serves a purpose.

Sorry about the lack of answer. Mid-flight transfers are doable. You can swap crew around without a dock.

Someone add me to a plan where we don't push into enemy territory. Our advantage lies in ambushes. Whenever we engage in a direct fight, either during a blockade or an encounter in-transit or something else we do significantly worse. Move everything to the TC that we can and prepare ambush tactics. Bring some comms officers for the vipers.
