I'm trying to drag a little more background out of our fearless GM. Specifically technological. I know we're a hodgepodge, but my present ideas are A. Let the GM decide or B. Suggest we literally rip the tech progression out of Aurora 4X because it works.

As for Taricus being anti bio tech, the exploration, spy and diplomacy corps could still use that stuff, and if it is good enough he might even grudgingly have to accept the necessity.

I was thinking of grabbing Cruiser with a small bay for boarding craft and drop pods.

I want a cruiser as well. Better than normal scanners even if it reduces the armour and or weapons. Needs enough on board supplies for extended action outside the fleet. Naturally I would need a few landers and probes too.

Interstellar Credits are the galaxy wide standard for large scale commerce, with each one being worth millions to billions of local currencies.
 
Most purchases are worth far less than a IC, and transactions and trades worth less than that are hand waved away. Generally, only ships and advanced vehicles cost IC. A fighter costs about 1 IC, Frigates cost about 10, a Cruiser costs about 25.
 
The Randiri nation has about 20 IC in circulation. To acquire good, you need to match the modifiers for the item to current IC.
 
For example, laser rifles are a common item. This leaves -20, so you have 40 points of room for upgrades. So you could get up to 250,000 laser rifles. OR you could get 50,000 better quality rifles, or you could get 10 of the best quality rifles.
 
I don’t have a real list of stuff yet, but if you make a list of suggested items, and perhaps their availability of what you want I can do that.
 
You can only do one item per trading mission, or turn. The number of items depend on the cargo ships you send.
 

Well I think the only thing left is to pick your personal ships. I think the research team will share a ship, as will the Diplo Corps and Skyjumpers. Navy and Night Raiders can get personal ships they command.

But if I would customize, I'd pick (whichever is easier/more affordable), a frigate or cruiser that changes all its weapons out for protection (electronic warfare or sensor shielding/armor) as a troop carrier that is adapted to breaking blockades or just rushing above the atmosphere to drop troops in.
