So, I've been toying around with this idea lately. I'm making this thread as an interest check for now. Once there's enough interest/waitlisted people, this will turn into an OOC for the actual game.

The premise of the game is as follows: All players take on them the role of the vassal of a larger nation: Sylthas. You will be in charge of a dynasty (or just the succesive rulers, if you choose a non-dynastic form of government) ruling a fief within Sylthas, deciding the course of your characters, lands, and possibly even Sylthas itself. Using diplomacy, intrigue and warfare, you can rise to the top of the nation, possibly even becoming king. There will be a lot of freedom: do as you please! Subject neighbouring nation states, revolt with your allies, found your own religions et cetera. Only the most basic mechanics (combat, mostly) will be mechani-sized. Much will depend on both the stats of your nation, your ruler and the occasional dice roll.

I've got a lot of ideas, but most of them still need to be figured out detail-wise. The goal of the game is to have the players decide most that happens: they will be the ones waging wars, marrying each other, forging alliances, betraying eachother et cetera.

If you leave anything empty, I'll fill it in for you.
Vassal Country: the name, as well as a general description of the country. Try to keep it somewhat consequent with what the others have posted. This way we won't have a gargantuan desert nation named I'kua'au'to bordering a tundra nation named Land-09.3

Government form: how your country is governed. Be it a barony, duchy, county, march, tribe, prince-bishopric, democracy or anything else. I do recommend dynastic forms though, as it'll allow you to experience the game to its fullest extent. A democracy, for example, won't be able to marry with other houses or be granted the title of king.

Inheritance/election: How/when rulers change. The default for dynastic inheritance would be agnatic-cognatic primogeniture (oldest son inherits everything), but feel free to get creative here. Some historical coutries split everything between their late rulers' children evenly, others made the oldest person in the dynasty inherit. Just describe whatever you choose properly.

State stat points: Bonuses to rolls are based on these points. You have eight to spend. Stats can become negative and will be capped at 10/-10 for this.
Diplomacy: anything involving diplomacy (with NPCs, player v. player diplomacy is done in chat)
Martial: anything involving fights
Stewardship: anything involving governing your own state and economy
Intrigue: anything involving sneaky stuff
Learning: anything involving knowledge and religion

Unique traits: these can be everything, something unique to your country. Buildings, resources, religions, biomes and any other thing you can think of. They'll  give you things to work with lore-wise, as well as stat bonuses or maluses.

Character

Name: the first name(s) of your character
Dynasty: your character's dynasty, if any
Age: the age of your character, obviously
Description: physical description of your character
Coat of Arms: The family weapon of your character, and by extension your nation.

Character stat points: same as state stat points, only difference being you only have 5 points to spend and they're capped at 5/-5

Unique traits: things unique of your character, such as skills, personality, physical deformity etc. Can be everything you want, they'll too be added as bonuses or maluses to your character's stats. I'll decide the value of the bonuses themselves, you just list the stats.

The Order is one of the many monastic orders of the Rightist faith, a mystical semi-heresy semi-orthodox aspect of the land's religion. The residing Master-Quill is the highest member of the Lodge within Burmant  and controls it in the name of both the nation as well as the Order. In these lands, the mystics spend much of their time pursuing esoteric truths as well as the growing of precious crops, such as the beloved swamp tobacco.

I was thinking low-fantasy, because magic can easily get OP if there's not a lot of rules surrounding it.

For now they are, but I'll allow a certain degree of human "specialisation" if you so desire. Humans from one place could be blonde and have pointy ears, whilst others are smaller than average and like their beards long and braided. They're still all human though.
