How fun is SPAMKINGDOM series?

Mind-bogglingly popular game series that you follow from early on and cannot stop, waiting for new installment like a drooling addict.
Long-runner soap opera you're too invested into to just stop watching it.
A fun little comic strip in the daily newspaper that's been around forever.
3/6
Who said it's fun? I didn't for sure.
I'm just waiting here for it to die horribly already so it will stop showing on my Unread Posts list.

The idea that more vassals means more troops is somewhat idiotic when it's land you could of gotten troops from anyway. It's not like there will magically be more troops coming from an area if you make it a vassal. Just saying.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it works though. Scale of troops is very squishy and it's been the truth historically that even small areas can cough up competitive levels of troops out of seemingly no where if it's what Haspen thinks should happen. On the other hand, this basically always only happens to our detriment, so I doubt vassal troops would pop up to help us defend even though they'd probably pop up to rebel.

Hmm. That's an interesting question of mechanics because our Imperial troops are not 'produced' by land so much as 'recruited' by gold.

I believe having vassals reduces our income commensurately as we are not collecting local taxes and whatnot; and that does act as a limit on the largest size army we can raise. But it's also true that we've reached a point of minimal returns where each budget increase now gains only one more point of maximum: thus four hypothetical econ points spent by vassals on 'split' armies should outnumber four points collected and spent centrally.

I vaguely recall a situation where Eval rode to the rescue while our main army was engaged on another front. But that's the rub: they were available as backup because they didn't march when the central empire declared war; we could only mobilize them on an emergency defense basis. So splitting up the armies may not work well for our core constituency. In addition, given our training regimen and dedicated armory ironworks, things not necessarily or even likely replicated by the vassals, it could be argued that the Grand Imperial Army would outfight the hypothetical split armies for a similar cost.

You decide to modernize the Fireblood units and tell the engineers to do with the fort upgrades.

You also decide the accept the offerings of the peasants and nobles and go to war against Helliste, under the pretext of obtaining freedom of trade with the distant Chai and Gan Minseng.

1212 AD, Spring

The war council gathers!

Your officers, at least some of them, are a bit uneasy having to wage war whilst you've just called for reform of the Fireblood corps as well as refurbishing of the forts. They don't want they guns half-prepared and their forts half-walled.

"What are you talking about?" Says one of the members of the opposing side. "We crush their armies in the field, and then besiege their cities till they give in to starvation and death. We don't need neither out forts in the Empire nor our tubes for that to work, come on!"

The officers continue to argue for a while; finally, they ask you whether you would agree to postpone the war against Helliste for a year.

A) "Nonsense, I've already commited to the war, so war it is!"
B) "Alright, alright, let's keep the bloodshed from happening this year."

We are a martial leader, with a magic banner and a magic sword, a full army rating, invading a place a quarter of our size.

There is almost zero chance they would make it into our territory, let alone put up a fight once there. We are plenty prepared.

Honestly, I think they have a better chance of catching wind of our plans and invading us during the off year than they do of pushing back our invasion and launching a counter attack. A

You decide to postpone the invasion of Helliste for a year.

1212 AD, Mid-Spring

Congratulations, you've become a father! Your wife, Mirinda, has just given birth to a squealing little boy, whom she named 'Luthas', after a hero from the folk tales from the days of the ancient Luathbas.

1212 AD, Summer

The representatives of the Cartography Charter has arrived for an audience.

"Great Emperor of even greater Methiant, our brave predecessors and founders were in the east, south and west so far, but the seas to the north, awesome and terrifying in their vastness, still hold many secrets. And recently we learn that some half-elfs and Dvars live there, and that the dark and cold waters can be crossed to reach all the way to Prawlant? We've decided that we absolutely need to follow these hearsays and see with our own eyes what lies beyond the northern horizon."

A) "I was curious myself. Take the money, and bring me knowledge of the northern lands!"
B) "Not now, shoo."
