I realized I was looking at the wrong analysis. It's not about diplomacy, it's about Segeda. She is a woman who wants to feel pursued: she was 'grateful' for the library but what have we done lately? Nothing, and now she's cold again. The key phrase is, "Using big words," which could be a disaster (bad roll) in our drunken state. But who does it really impress? Hint: not Elran.

After you two get seated together, you lean to King Elran and tell him in big words and big epithets what you think of him wooing your dearest wife.

An explanation alter, King Elran spends a moment thinking it over, and then leans back to your, apologizing for his behaviour. It's just that your wife is so damn sexy that he couldn't resist her superior charm. While he doesn't seem to be exceptionally sincere, he does not flirt with Segeda again during the feast.

The next morning, the hangover reigns supreme, so you start negotiations with King Elran in the afternoon. He either keeps confidence to royal feasts or has been humbled, as this time he looks much more reserved.

"The engineers and alchemists that came with me shall stay with you, of course, per prior agreement. They will teach your men how to create Fireblood machines just like those I used to shatter Kiwi's strongholds across their land." You nod, as it is what you wanted. He doesn't mention Felonsine territories, as their ownership today is pretty clear.

"Now, about the marriage of our kids. Your son, Cyl, I reckon is his name, has just been born? Well, my little Esta is almost five by now, but it doesn't seem like my queen wishes for more children at the moment. Shall we agree to the bethrothal of Esta to Cyl, so that our dynasties might grow closer to each other in the future, hmm?"
