Good point. Then perhaps this (Sorry, but I don't think SLUDG is QUITE necessary yet....even if the HOSE would make an EXCELLENT flamethrower):

Fast Forty of Flying Fragging Flaming Death
FFFFFD

This thing is not nice. No, really, it's not nice. Built along the lines of modern military equipment, this revolver-style 40mm grenade launcher utilizes a variety of ammunition, including HE, HEAT (Hey, you never know!), incendiary (NAPALM!), fragmentation (Nobody ever died from blowing too many things....wait a minute), and has provisional designs included for the creation of rocket-propelled variants and ABC Scrambler ammunition...should that ever become necessary. All the grenades can be thrown by hand if necessary, and will properly detonate on timer.

----In short, this is something we're gonna need---a nice, nasty, super-deadly grenade launcher. The incendiary is mostly a joke, but I bet that those zombies are fairly flammable, considering that their bodies are probably dried-out husks. All the other ammo is standard-issue in other armies, should be BEYOND easy. Rocket propulsion on the grenades would cut down payload, but as it's a 40mm grenade payload's not really an issue, whereas keeping the freaks at long range is a REALLY nice advantage. And of course provision for disabling those ridiculous mages should we ever deploy the scramblers. Guess we're going to have to find out whether or not those mages will have other effects, I suppose. If the mages become an issue, scramblers, scramblers everywhere.

I like all of these but am avoiding voting for my own stuff and don't think that we need artillery yet. While a universal disabler could be very handy and we have been sitting on sludg for a while now and I am tired of my hindquarters being sticky.

I won't object to the HOSE, but I want a grenade launcher first. Let's develop basic killing ability versus everything we might face, THEN move on to capturing things alive. Or, undead, as the case may be.

Hmmm well we need to capture eventually. Now though thinking to kill or study Mage book to try hand at magic, to fight fire with itself.

Remember: When fighting fire, the fire department generally uses water.

I really really want spectral sensors before trying magic. Being able to analyse magic before using it seems lieka good idea. And while the spectral sennsors might not do that, they are designed to see skeleton smoke afterall, I would really like to at least try...

I hope you guys will be OK with grenades sooner rather than later. We're going to need firepower, and the early days are the best time to put the simplest non-magical items in play. We need to be able to kill almost everything, THEN we can worry about specialized containment and analysis systems. By the way, how do you propose that a hostile, restrained by SLUDG, be stored permanently? I think we can agree that simply slapping the crap on is NOT going to hold a strong zombie or skeleton, or even a human mage, for very long.

So, what use can we get out of SLUDG right now, and is it worth the price of deploying it?
Since we have no permanent restraint solutions, we really ought to not try anything with SLUDG just yet. Also, can we actually afford even the SLUDG itself right now? I thought it costs like 100R, without even buying the HOSE system.

Technically not a tie, but I'll give it a little more time to make sure it stays that way :-p.

Just write it up now. Sooner the better, and I don't think it will change. Besides, grenade launchers next turn!

Wait a minute, are you suggesting something about what we're going to be facing?

I just woke up, unless you are looking for a half-lucid writeup you will have to wait :P.
