Steam catapults haven't been invented yet. They'd probably be Hard by themselves.

We would probably, actually factually, be better off using rockets.

So, whilst I am in favour of a carrier, I think it should either not have a catapult (and we just need to accept it won't be able to launch jets), or use a rocket catapult.

It should be able to launch jets if we make it longer and put a ramp on it.

We could go with a hydraulic or pneumatic catapult.  Both predate WW2, and we have the tech.

Or we could just do without; the ramp and longer runway should be fine on its own.

Put a second hull on that.

Hydraulic and pneumatic we can do, but they aren't as powerful as steam... or rocket.

I'm just saying, the PAROI party has a point in this case. Putting rockets on our carriers would be a good idea.

Nearly identical to the Pattern A version, the Pattern 'K'ot variant features a second runway that extends off the ship at an angle, supported by a converted Archer.  This makes the ship a catamaran, thus making it better.

My concern is that it's easier to run out of rockets, and it requires a modification of the planes to utilize them.  That being said, having rocket-assisted planes would be a huge boon to our interceptors...

Heh, I think we could win as easily in jungles with the first version of the jet engine and would win sea\plains with an upgraded Stinger. :P

I am curious to see if we will able to make a ten year jump in carriers, I would say no but after the last turn with the jet I am not so sure. I even think that Pattern A is not ambitious enough.

There are no reason to write my ideas because carrier bandwagon is obvious, so I am waiting for the next turn and hope they will roll six on their jet fighter because I don't want this game to be effectively over so soon.

Sure hope not. We may have kicked them out of jungle, but they have also kicked us out of the plains, and without landing ships that will be a pain in the ass to retake. We must bolster our ground forces somehow.

2/3 on the plains. We still hold ground. A heavy tank of our own that beats theirs or a TD/SPG/ Tank buster CAS will allow us to push back.

tank buster CAS is just the Haast with a bigger autocannon, can do on a revision.

What about a better dive bomber that could help both on the plains and at sea from existing carriers?

could be... but a bigger carrier would be able to launch fully loaded haast. Haast would be a quite good torpedo bomber, being resilient to damage and carrying 2 torpedoes.

edit: plus, a big carrier can be easily revised to get 3+ TC, which we need. ( 3+TC will round down to 1.5, therefore 2. Which we need)
