I guess I will get on the bandwagon... even if I do have worries about it's safety.

It's a cut-corners hauler named "Reckless Effect", what did you expect

I like the article!  It could use a positive note, though. Maybe mention getting the Research Credit and our success up north?
It is an opposition newspaper. It is not in the business of reporting on the government's successes, unless it can make them seem shady.

Pffft. As if there were no way to make the research credit seem shady.

I am sure the gold plated motorcycle we gave to the US ambassador had nothing to do with it.

Re: Fog
Next turn we can develop radar to deal with that problem. Having escorts will start to actually mean something because then you can triangulate enemy ships' locations quickly by aggregating data. It'll also give our fire control computers data to use which will improve our AAA's accuracy, enable our naval guns to be used at night for bombardment or surface combat, and help our carriers direct fighters ("Hey squad x, we can see ships 100km to your 150. Intercept them on this bearing. Squad y will be low on fuel soon. Tell them to fly to us at such-and-such bearing and let's turn into the wind.").

Barring Cannalan FuckeryTM, I think Research Credit RADAR is our choice next turn.

Military Transport Aircraft UFAF-MTA-38 'Reckless Effect' Pattern A
Description: Dedicated hauler aircraft.  Large internal spacing to allow for cargo, be it ore shipments, oil drums, paratroopers, or a very skinny light tank.  Rear drops down into a ramp beneath the tail to allow cargo to be wheeled in and out of the plane.  Ramp can be opened in flight to drop paratroopers, or cargo if an emergency occurs and the pilot needs to drop weight.  Four V12 radial engines and a large wingspan give the aircraft enough lift to carry its cargo where it needs to.  Internals are sparsely furnished to cut weight where possible.  Large rudder and elevator gives it a relatively stable flight. Wings are shoulder-mounted to give the engines ground clearance and further increase stability.
Dimensions: 25 meters long, 35 meter wingspan.
Cargo Hold: 12 meters long by 2.5x2.5 meter cross-section.
Max Load: 8,000 kg  (2 TC)
    Engines: 4 V12 Radial wing-mounted engines.
    Armament: None.
    Armour: None.
Other stuff: Both Encryption and Decryption radios for communication.

Sorry, question, are the motors V12 or something like an 11-cylinder radial? They're mutually exclusive.

I'd recommend adding to that design that it is to be designed to maximum cheapness in all ways. It should have NO armor. NO weapons. NO fancy self-sealing anything.

By the way, will the extra TC help in getting additional boots on the ground in the jungle? Or is the jungle good enough as is?

Eheh, whoops.

Well...a V11 is pretty decent all by itself.  Would it matter significantly if we said it was a double-row 14 cylinder, like the 1932 Twin Wasp Engine?  It's what they used in the DC-3 Douglas, which this design was pulling inspiration from.

It already says:

    Armour: None.
And nowhere does it say anything about self-sealing fuel tanks, so I don't know why you bring it up.

We already have V12 engines, so just go for the V12.

Just make the engines powerful, I guess.

I'm trying to emphasize what we really need out of this thing. Namely, plentiful-ness.

Actually, I think it'd be fine at Expensive.
