Well, improving our air performance will help take down their cruisers immensely. Though we'll want a transport ship next turn so that we have cheap carriers and a whole buttload of cheap aircraft to compliment said carriers.

EDIT: Just checked, we're going to have more carriers than they have cruisers. This'll be great :D

I'm happy to see a 32 revision going through, but one of our design/revisions next turn needs to be anti-capital-ship.

You mean like....perhaps....some sort of specialized bomb designed to kill capital ships?  Perhaps one that is designed to hide under the water and travel very fast, and can hit the ships at their most vulnerable point?  One that could be launched from both ships and planes, even?

Heh.....we're going to suffer if they do something other than make a new plane, I'm afraid.

We really needed to get a start at breaking their navy.

We're going to break it alright, don't fret.

Every turn we let them control the seas, we lose out on getting numbers into the field. Badly. Next turn, either use the design on making a really good torpedo and the revision on a better transport vessel, or the other way around.

Mate our carriers outnumber their cruisers and reach parity with the rest of their designs. Again, we don't need to worry much.

But the problem is that we can't reliably kill their ships. The last battle report held, IIRC, no mentions of ship kills by aircraft. Just damage dealt to ships through the microbombs that we're deploying en-masse, apparently without using anything larger, even though we had it earlier in this war.

It's enough to disable them, and that's in the limited amount of craft we have. We get more into the air against them and they'll definitely feel it.

That was the possibility I was considering

Moskurg's Tiger armour was a desperate attempt to close the gap in the latter stages of the unification war. Now that we have more resources, more time and less pressure we can design a better version. This suit is made entirely of aluminium for the reduced weight, whilst also being extended to cover the previously exposed forearms, shins, hands and feet. This weight reduction, along with general smithing  improvements affords the wearer a greater degree of movement, comfortably crouching or lying prone. The improved coverage also allows the Armor to be used offensively on the move.
Aluminum armor has to be roughly an inch thick to stop rifle rounds. That will worsen mobility, not improve it. I recommend a modern compromise between defense and mobility that apes the IOTV. A weight distributing vest with steel plate inserts. Protection for the vital organs while still being able to carry gear will allow for more effective assaults than what the Tiger armor provides.
